Sorry, in advance, for the length. I'm long winded @_@

Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later. While I was pregnant, I tried planning everything just so and had all these ideas of what I would do and how I would do them. Medfree birth, breastfeeding, cloth diapering, blah blah blah. And everyone kept telling me how great it was to have plans, but don't expect everything to work out so well or come so easily - plan to be ok with plans not working out accordingly. And I would be all, "Yeah, yeah, of course, 'best laid plans of mice & men' yadda yadda." So my birthing plan went without a hitch. My feeding plan went without a hitch. And now diapering...oh, look...a hitch.

I bought sort of a hodge podge of diapers and was gifted some new & used. Here is what my stash currently consists of.

12 newborn prefolds (6-10lbs)
6 infant prefolds (7-15) lbs
4 used prefolds (unsure of size or weight or brand, they're green edged and are somewhere between the newborn and infant prefolds I have)
1 Kissaluvs newborn fitted (5-15 lbs)
1 hybrid fitted OS

2 Thirsties x-small diapers covers (6-12lbs)
2 Rumparooz newborn/preemie diaper covers (4-12 lbs)
1 Bumkins OS cover
1 Thirsties duo wrap cover Size 1 (6-18lbs)

2 Bumkins AIO OS
1 Simplex AIO OS

We used disposables until his stump fell off, then used newborn prefolds and covers during the day, sticking with disposables at night and during washing because we didn't have many to last us an entire day. LO is currently 8 weeks and was 10lbs the last time we had him weighed (around 2-3 weeks ago, so who knows what he weighs atm).

I have no idea what I'm doing in terms of fit. I think he's pretty much outgrown the newborn covers and that's the reason he's been leaking out of them. But I have no idea what a "right fit" looks like, especially on the OS AIO diapers where there's the adjustable rise and whatnot. Should the rise be under his belly button, above, in-line-with? How tight should the waist be? I never know if it's too loose or I'm making him uncomfortable or what. How do you know if a diaper is just not the right fit period?

DH was all on board about CD and now, after suffering some leakage and one blow out of the legs of the Bumkins AIO OS (and the legs were good and snug!) he's beginning to doubt this was a good idea. I, on the other hand, want to soldier on and figure out what we're doing wrong.

Right now, the Kissaluv newborn AIO and the Kissaluv fitted fit him the best.
