Okay no need to get all "eww I would never do that!" (cause I mean, really, how is it different than cloth diapers?) but I get this isn't everyone's cup of tea.
Has anyone used cloth postpartum pads? I use cloth pads regularly, and prefer them and so want to use them post partum too. But I don't know if I'll be the one doing laundry that first week or two (I sure hope not!) and I don't want to make someone else wash them.
What was your experience using cloth for postpartum bleeding?

Very interesting, I have never heard of cloth pads before! I bet they would help a lot post partum though, and they would be extra soft for down there

@jedeve: I've never heard of this but I think if you are planning on doing cloth diapers it would be easy to just add the cloth pads to the same loads of laundry.

I used them, I don't use them normally (I use the Diva cup, which I looove) but I did pp. I felt that my stitches healed much faster when I switched from normal pads, and I was generally comfier. I cloth diaper, so I was doing a lot of laundry anyway.

I am intrigued by the idea but have not tried them. I have no idea what to expect for post partum bleeding which scares me off - like you, I know it'd be my Mom or Husband washing them.. and introducing cloth diaper washing seems like enough of a stretch for them!

I don't know what brand my pads were, I bought them from the health food store in town. I used them for...7 weeks the first time and I think 4 or 5 the second time? For the first couple days I used the hilarious oversized pads with disposable underwear you get at the hospital (very sexy) and then switched to the cloth pads when my flow slowed down a bit.

interested in this thread... I thought of doing that pp but was afraid I'd need a TON of cloth pads because you change them so often.
AF just returned (7 months pp) and I am finding again how uncomfortable pads are - hate them! They are chaffing badly and leaving sores on my bum. Not cool.

@Coco Bee: Have you tried the Diva Cup? It's all I use and so much comfier, cheaper and safer than tampons or pads.

@Mrs. Superhero: yeah the "safer" part is what scared me when a friend told me developed endo from using tampons. scary!! I switched to seventh generation pads/tampons...
I've heard some mixed reviews on the diva cup... some say it's messy/leaks and gross, others say it's amazing... not sure if I want to try it or not!!

@Coco Bee: For me, it never leaks, even overnight, but you have to put it in properly.

@Coco Bee: I can't do diva cup or tampons or anything internal, but I love cloth pads. I use PIMPS (party in my pants) and they still feel a bit like pads (as in they get bunchy), but so much softer, no glue for stuff to stick to, and amazingly absorbent. I want to try a few other brands too.
