I just bought the cheapest, bulkiest ones I could find. I got two big packs from Big Lots for about $2/package. Wings were good because they didn't twist, and long was nice because I felt protected at night.

I would go for the most ginormous ones you can find in the supermarket;) Sounds super sexy, right?
I still leaked even with huge ones:( So, I wore a pad and some spanx!

I used thick pads but without wings. The wings somehow chafed my thighs, so that was uncomfortable. I also asked the nurses at the hospital for extra pads and extras of those really sexy disposable underwear.

I only use pads and IMO the best are Always or Always Infinity (i like both). They are thin so you don't feel like you are wearing a flotation device between your legs, but offer great protection. Honestly, the big ole' thick ones the hospital gave me were fine too while I was in the hospital and sitting down most of the day. They were huge though, so I didn't want to wear them once I was discharged.

I loved the Always Infinity. I discovered them after my M/C and they are so thin and absorbent and comfy. I didn't feel like I was wearing a diaper. I bought a box of the overnights, super and regulars. I didn't end up needing all the overnights and I had to buy another box of the regulars.

I used leftover hospital pads and Always overnights for a week or so and then switched over to Target's brand version of the Infinity's for the next few weeks. My bleeding wasn't as bad as I was expecting, but the overnights were much more cushioned which helped when sitting down!

Always infinity for after you don't need the gigantic ones from hospital!

@MerryC: Haha, I used these too!!! They worked great for the first week or so!! I actually got them for free from the grocery store while on sale + a coupon so I stocked up!

I would suggest thinking about a few different thicknesses. Towards the end of my PP bleeding I just needed something thin.

for post partum you might want to start with the bulky maxi pads first and then go from something like the Always ultra thin night time because they are longer.

I used to like always infinity but I hate it now, its way too narrow

i used the always overnight with wings - the ones to the far right in your link --- they worked for me!

I used the hospital-grade super duper pads the first 5 (or so) days after I left the hospital though.... I was also using the pads with the ice pack built in the first few days - those were the best.

i had stitches, but they were internal.... for me, anything TOO padded was actually more uncomfortable. Sitting on the bobby was helpful for that.
