DH and I brough LO home yesterday. We needed to do a few errands today and while DH could have done them himself, it was faster to have me go with him. We got lots of comments about how little/young LO is (3 days) but what surprised me was how adamant one lady was that in her country nobody would dare take an infant out so young and how it was such a bad idea, etc. She went on for way, way longer than necessary.
Wow. LO was in her carseat/stroller, DH and I were in front of it, and nobody had a chance to even touch LO. I got so annoyed that if we weren't already paying, I would have asked DH to leave and we'd do our errand elsewhere.

Serious ugh! We took LO out when he was 5 days old...got lots of ooo's and ahhh's at Bed Bath and Beyond but other than that people keep their mouths shut thank God!

That is so obnoxious! In my son's first week, we went to Target, Costco, the grocery store, etc. It was FINE! I hate when people give unsolicited advice...

No one said anything like that to us, but I would be super annoyed too. We took her out almost every day at the beginning. I ended the fresh air and sunshine

We were at the mall, and it wasn't super crowded as it was early afternoon on a weekday, even though right after Christmas. The only reason we didn't do more errands like OSH, BRU, etc was because I got tired after walking around and DH volunterred to do those errands alone after getting us home and settled. I would have been okay with it if she'd left it at "well, in my country" but she kept pushing it, like she expected either an explanation or for me to go home ASAP.

@MaisyMay: it's none of their business but in some cultures it's terrible bad luck/there's religious reasons associated with it, etc. I know one of my coworkers never left the house for over a month due to religious reasons, they also thought that doing so was unholy and unhealthy.

@rachiecakes: I was explaining that to DH after we left that store because he hadn't heard. I told him about women not bathing or leaving the house, eating specific foods, etc. It's an intersting pratice but I'd go nuts!

I think DS was 3 days old when we went to a carnival type thing and I wore him in the Moby wrap. Everyone just kinda chuckled at the fact that he was in the same place as he was a week before, only no longer inside my uterus, lol.
Some people just need to mind their own business!

No one said a thing to me, and we had LO out a day or two after we were home from the hospital. I would be so annoyed if someone said something!

I had a c-section and I was going stir crazy at home so we went to the store...I was hobbling and got a few concerned comments!
