When did you switch from your infant bucket seat to a convertable car seat? LO is 9 mths and I think I'll be doing the switch this weekend, she's looking a bit cramped in there and her head is almost touching the top....I'm dreading it, esp when she takes her naps in it!

Following this most - I have a tall baby, and am dreading the thought of switching - I, too, have a car napper sometimes and can't imagine him nodding off as easily in the convertible.

I switched at 7 months when she could sit up consistently and not flop over.

My oldest around 13 months? My youngest at 8 months...looks like I need to soon! He's reached the length of his infant car seat already but hasn't yet for weight. Once I find a good deal on the Dionos I'm buying another two!

we did ours this weekend and LO is a few days away from being 8 months

We got away with it until 11 months, and made the switch last weekend. We stretched it out as long as we could. The only downside for us is naps, and yes, that part sucks! Otherwise he loves his new seat and seems more comfortable.
If we are out and about and he crashes out for a nap, I will usually go through a drive thru for lunch and sit on a parking lot and read off the Kindle app on my phone. If we are done and heading home, I park in our garage and clean, organize, or do laundry just to give him more time out there. If we have an appointment, then I'm SOL and try to get him down for the nap later. I have had zero luck getting him from the seat to his bed while staying asleep.

We're getting one for Christmas and are going to make the switch when we get back home, I think. LO is 7 months. @erwoo: If he has reached the height limit, you probably want to switch sooner than later. The limits are either/or not both/and.
