Our new house has a wood burning fireplace that, at some point, was turned in to a gas fireplace. We'd love to convert it back in to a wood burning one.

Anyone here turn a gas fire place back in to a wood burning one? Was it a big deal?

It looks like the gas unit is pretty much just inserted in to the fireplace and it doesn't seem like it will be much to take it out, but maybe (probably) there is something I don't know lol?

If it helps, the house is pretty new, like 20 years old max, so it's not like it was converted in to gas that long ago or the chimney is that old.
