Any recommendations to soothe a cough for an adult? The whole family has this crappy cold and now I have an annoying tickle in your throat kind of cough- which is even worse when paired with a newborn who will only sleep in my arms. I've been drinking warm water with honey but it's not cutting it. Other breastfeeding friendly suggestions?

In a big shot glass put
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
Pinch cayenne
Pinch ginger
Fill the rest with hot water. Stir and shoot. Chase with more honey on a spoon. Repeat three times a day. -
I eat raw honey by the spoonful. A few times a day.

Mucinex and a steam shower... That's all I have found to help
I feel ya. My OB was surprised I haven't coughed this baby out yet!

Sipping on a small glass of red wine always helps me when I have that kind of cough.

@littlebug: I only have regular honey but I've been having that or mixed with warm water. Not doing enough though.

@Foodnerd81: I'll use regular honey if it's all I have, but raw is thicker and seems to coat the throat better.
ETA: I also prefer orange blossom honey to clover. I find clover honey to be "sharp," and sometimes it actually makes me cough!
I feel ya. My OB was surprised I haven't coughed this baby out yet!
