So our regular daycare caregiver is back from vacation so I asked her today if she noticed Xander getting hungry earlier than normal and she said that was hungry about 30 minutes sooner than the 3 hours. I forgot to ask WHY she thought he was hungry. I think asked how long it takes to feed him a bottle and she said he downs one in about 5 minutes. YIKES! Guess that explains why he ALWAYS drinks 5oz...
So now I'm wondering - could the fact that he's drinking the bottle so quickly be causing him to get hungrier than his normal 3 hours at home? She suggested either feeding him earlier (which would probably result in FOUR 5oz bottles a day) or upping his bottles to 6oz (so my options are 18oz or 20oz... great)
What do you ladies (and gents) think?
I would definitely ask why they think he's hungrier. I'm not sure that feeding too quickly would make him hungrier sooner unless he spit up a whole bunch? And you said on weekends, he only eats every 3 hours right? How many times does he nurse during the day on the weekends during the time you'd be at work?
