I know there are other crafters around here - what have you made lately??? I'm getting ready to sew Valentine's shirts for both of us, but I made a wool diaper cover for @allison last night. It was so easy.. and it is sooo soft.

I made a crib skirt when I was snowed in this weekend Excuse the currently unpainted (and repository of random stuff while we get the nursery ready) changing tableā¦

My mom and I have recently done drapes for my living room windows. They're nothing fancy, just linen and black out liner, but man, it was a labor of love!

I did a curtain for the closet in kidlet's room, and now I'm doing a few pillows for her reading corner.

@looch: did you find the drapes challenging? I'm really considering making some drapes for LO and our bedroom. I can't stand how expensive basic blackout curtains are in the store.
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
@MamaG: yes, we did, largely because we're not really expert sewers and we were working with fabric that I had previously cut, so it wasn't all even. We had to basically take down a curtain panel from my mom's house to inspect how it was put together, lol.
I got the blackout liner from fabric.com, it was about $70 for 9 yards. Another option could be to add the black out liner to existing panels.

@MamaG: I just hung blackout liner behind curtains on clips. You can't really see it unless you're looking, and then I can reuse it if I want to change curtains!
@Mae: very elegant! I love the striped wall, too, it looks so professional

@looch: That's not the answer I wanted. I've looked at fabric.com and if I can settle on a fabric, I think I'm going to give it a try. I'm not an expert seamstress either. But I found a tutorial that made it seem easy. I'll regret those words, I'm sure.

@MamaG: you know how it goes, it's all fun and games until you have to rip out your work!

@Mae: your crib skirt turned out great!
I am currently finishing up my scrapbook! I'm putting in my baby showers and nursery pages, then I get to start a new scrapbook when LO gets here.

@MamaG: don't forget ebates if you order from fabric.com! Oops realized my diaper pic didn't load.

I've been working on this:
It's a beadwork pouch for Ellie.
@scg00387: That's fantastic! I'm very impressed.
@Mae: I really like that skirt. The fabric is lovely and you made such nice pleats.

We brewed our own cider this year (from apples from our trees) and I decorated the bottles to give to our friends as gifts.

You guys are so talented! I made a mini diaper cake for my SIL but it's not the same skill level
@Mrs. Twine: cute! Does she like Finding Nemo or is that just a regular clown fish?

Wow, I'm so jealous of all you ladies that can sew. I really wish I could make my own curtains and pillows!
I recently made a bunch of party decor, including a cake.

@beaker: Just a regular clown fish. She asked for one ??? out of nowhere. But then I had to try to make a pattern and it was hard. Really hard. I'm in the home stretch finally-- embarassed to admit I've been working on it for years. Like, several. But it sat in a cupboard for a really long time.

@Mrs. Twine: HOLY INCREDIBLE!!!!! Wow that looks so cool!
I've been making cloth wipes (200), bibdanas (100) and burp cloths (72), looking to make some nursing pads this week.

This wasn't very recent but I am still pretty proud of it. We always get compliments on it and it was soooooo easy.
I *made* this Ikea DIY hack (not the pic but looks the same)

DH and I built this tv stand a couple weeks ago. We're going to make a coffee table next.

@Leialou: wow, where did you get the plans? Or did you design it yourself? It is gorgeous!
I took a scarf from my own personal stash, sewed the ends together to make an infinity scarf for LO. Not exactly complex but we use it every day and also avoided buying a scarf!

@Mrs. Sketchbook: it's Ana White plans. We'd like to design our own eventually, but it was our first build so we wanted directions. My DH has big plans to build a crib one day.

@scg00387: I'm working on a quilt that would make real quilters weep and rend their garments, lol! (aka I've totally given up on matching any seams/corners. Like, spectacularly given up.)

I'm in the process of making 1st birthday stats boards for my nephews. (This isn't finished yet, but I've got it mostly laid out.)

@Espion: those are the best kind. I made one for my daughter while I was pregnant out of leftover bunting from our wedding. I made it up as I went, and had no idea what I was doing, but it so special to me now!

@Silva: Exactly! I figure this is going to be the blanket E will drag around. I have a vision!
@jhd: Gorgeous!

Knitted a scarf and hat for myself and am working on another set because I had extra yarn and don't really like the first pattern after finishing them. Getting ready to start knitting Christmas stockings for my whole family.
