I saw a beautiful wreath at Pottery Barn and decided to try to make it myself. I did, but I can't tell if it needs something else. The one they have is 22" and the one I made is 36". I got the ornaments from Walmart.com... most of them are full of glitter and not shiny like the ones from Pottery Barn.

I think your wreath looks great; I really like the different textures! Where is it going? A bow could look nice but I don't think it's necessary.

@BabyBoecksMom: You could do both or combine one with red. I got my bow (yeah, no way I was making one either) from a Christmas store. Do you have any specialty stores around that sell just Christmas stuff? Or are there any places that make bows? Would Michael's make one for you? For some reason, I think they do that....

I wonder if you could find a few larger Christmas balls to cluster with some of the smaller ones? Maybe the proportions are off just a little since you used a larger wreath?

@BabyBoecksMom: If there's stuff on your mantle (like candlesticks or pics or whatever), it might be overkill to add a bow? But if the area is pretty empty it would be a nice touch.

I would fluff it just a little, other than that, I prefer yours to the inspiration. I like the textures and am not big on super shiny stuff

I think it looks nice as is, but you could add either a silver, gold, or red bow if you wanted to. I would choose between silver or gold based on what looked nicer and was cheaper in the store. Or, you could add a few more ornaments around it. But honestly I think it looks really nice as is. I like the textures of the different ornaments.

I like it but it looks like the placement of the ornaments on the original are more scattered than in perfect circles, so I'd vote for adding a silver bow and some more smaller ornaments.

It looks good, I like the idea of a bow but it also looks good as is.
I agree, I think the proportion is off between the size of the wreath and the size of the ornaments.
Also, remember wreath decorating, divide the wreath into thirds and go from there. You can see on theirs the pattern of the balls starts with the three larger shiny silver ones and then filled in around those.

That's the problem - I'm such a perfectionist... Everything has to be in the perfect place - haha

I don't think it needs a bow - maybe more sparkle? spray glitter some of the ornaments? the PB wreath just has more shine... but I'm totally impressed at your DIY version! Awesome!
