Do you like Craigslist? Have you bought anything for your LO off of it?
We've purchased a big box of clothes for A, plus some toys for her. I'm a fan of CL, but you have to be careful. Some ads are pretty sketchy.

I don't do craigslist too much but we scored a couple months ago and bought an awesome dresser with deep drawers for$100 steal!

A good friend of mine ALWAYS has good luck with Craigslist. She's purchased big ticket items for dirt cheap prices like chandeliers, dresser drawers, buffet table, etc. I guess I am just too lazy to look through the listings but I have never bought anything through Craigslist.

Only concert tickets pre-LO.
Since then I've bought an exersaucer and a walker. I find/secure and DH is responsible for pick up.

I used Craigslist a lot ten years ago before it was considered sketchy. Recently I bought a FisherPrice jumperoo on Craigslist for half off!

It really depends where you live. When I lived in the Midwest it was awful because it was just people trying to sell overpriced junk. I haven't bought anything recently but the CL where I currently live is great. It amuses me to see people selling $100 desk that should be put in a dumpster but unlike the Midwest there are better pieces, too. I'm just waiting for a good deal ; )

I've never bought on CL, but we used to sell all the time!

I've had good luck selling. I don't think I've bought off there. I found a Facebook group I much prefer now. People aren't nearly as flaky and they pay more for nicer stuff.

I am irrationally afraid of CL because I am irrationally afraid of bed bugs. I did find our apartment there, though!

Where we used to live CL was really good and we got a few items and sold a few items. The one around here is super sketchy now and I don't want to use it to buy or sell. We've used it a few times and even DH is on board with not using it again in this area.

We got our dresser for LO off Craigslist! And we resold her jumperoo on there too! But it is hit and miss where we live...

The hubby LOVES Craigslist and has bought quite a few things off of it for himself and DS.

@LovelyPlum: me too! I like the idea of buying second hand but in practice it turns into only non porous items or things that can go from sealed plastic bag into my washer on high heat.

I haven't had any luck. My local craigslist is pretty shady with people asking almost full price for items. Just not worth the hassle. I prefer hellobee classifieds.

When I lived in NYC I looooved CL. I bought and sold a lot off stuff on it. There is a similar site here, but since it's all in German, I haven't been brave enough to try to buy stuff. Also, the deals aren't nearly as good. People sell used stuff with only about 1/3 of a discount from retail.

I got all of LO's nursery furniture on CL...It was the Larkin sleigh crib which had been discontinued, the changing table, and the Cameron wall organizer thingy. It was all perfect and a great deal. I also got her PBK bedding set on there, it was the Coco Dot set which had been discontinued and was no longer available.
Now that LO is here, I am not too keen on it, just bc I dont want to meet up with someone and have her with me for safety reasons...We actually have several things I'd like to post on CL but I dont want people at our house:(

I tend to sell more than buy on CL. I don't like people at my house either, but to sell furniture there isn't really another way. I just make sure that my husband is home when people are coming.

Yes! I've bought some baby items like strollers on CL before. I've also sold big things like heavy TVs and shelves that we couldn't donate. I tend to price the things I'm selling dirt cheap because I feel like they're doing me a favor by moving the junk out of my house. I'm a terrible seller that way.
