I'm (sadly) hoping this is finally the start of my expected miscarriage, but I haven't had any real bleeding. I'm having moderate to heavy cramps and spotting. Is that typical? To start having cramps before actually starting to bleed? With my chemical it just came on like a period and wasn't much worse but I was only 4 weeks 2 days. I'm almost 7 weeks now so expect it to be heavier...

With my CP, I had cramps before the bleeding. With my BO, I had bleeding and no cramps (had D&C.) Once again, I am so sorry. Hope that this can be resolved for you soon.

I had quite a bit of mild/ medium cramping and tons of brown spotting before my MC just shy of 6 weeks. I think that afternoon the cramping was getting a little more steady, and just before it happened my cramping got worse.

@auggiefrog: my cramps last night were pretty bad. My spotting seemed a little bit heavier, and I took Advil, but then my cramps went away and it slowed down.

I had a lot of spotting at first, but not any real cramping or bleeding.
The biggest lesson I think I learned was that there is no such thing as "normal"
I read forum after forum and sat waiting for major bleeding and pain, but ended up with nothing more than AF in either area.
When everything finally passed, I actually stopped spotting (it was blocking my cervix) and did have more pain one evening/night (nothing major, took advil and used a heat pack and it was bearable) but then nothing happened until the middle of the next day (and I had NO pain that day).

I had spotting first, then bleeding and cramping.
