We all have our realistic career dreams, and then there are the crazy-ish ones that are less realistic. Astronaut, ballerina, celebrity chef, etc.
For me, my crazy dream career would be as a showrunner for a TV show. I've always loved TV, but it never occurred to me that I could actually make a career out of it. It will never happen at this point, but I'd love to make some animation at some point so maybe I can pretend I'm a real showrunner ha.

@mrbee: Oh man. That would be a very very, VERY stressful job. All those politics and I've seen it with my own eyes - and I was only at a certain TV network shooting a show promo.
Hmm.... My dreams are not that big because so far, I sort of fulfilled all my "dream careers". When I was a kid, I wanted to be a graphic designer. I became a graphic designer. Then I want to design for broadcast / TV / motion graphics. I did that. After having my child I want to have my own art available in the market for his room, for games, for picture books, for his clothes... I kinda did that / am doing that too.
I would say it is the "depth" of my dream that wasn't / hasn't been achieved. When I was in broadcast I wanted to do motion graphics for movies... and that never happened. Now it will be my dream to have my art on products in Land Of Nod, or Pottery Barn Kids, or Chronicle books, and a couple of big brands that I dream about.... and that hasn't happened (yet).

I think becoming a philanthropist for a nonprofit is not a crazy dream in the future. I think I could totally do it when I retire from current career. That is my delayed dream. Firefighter is my -never going to happen but would be cool -dream.

Travel writer. In my ideal life, I'd spend 9-10 months out of the year not at home, and my kid would get to live in tons of different places and learn tons of languages.

A friend and I used to dream about opening a one-stop wedding store... wedding dresses, all things pretty paper (invitations, programs, etc.), flowers, photography, wedding planner, etc.

Judge on MasterChef. Gordon Ramsay and I would be BFF's and Christina and I would bake fabulous desserts together. I would give amazing faces to the camera when something looks bad or when someone does a terrible job. I would look forward to the moment that something is so bad, I can pull out the trashcan and dump it in, plate and all.

I always wanted to be a legal analyst for the Today Show // some other news show. Or I would like to be a high end real estate agent... like Million Dollar Listing. I could probably actively work towards either of those but I feel stuck in a rut.

I wanted to be a wildlife biologist or a wildlife photographer. I just wanted to live in the rainforest/congo/etc. for months at a time, studying and photographing animals for research/photos to be published in books and journals.

I've got nothing. I guess it's good I'm a mostly retired photographer and a SAHM. A realistic dream would be to make the big bucks with my fine art film photography, for now I just keep shooting and have a big backlog.
