We never put Lo in a crib, so I'm not sure about pricing.. Seems a bit high, but you're buying organic and quality.. Plus it's what you've been looking for. I say get it! You're gonna need an extra sheet though!

Price is relative. What's expensive for one person isn't for another. If that is something you can afford and you absolutely love it, then I say get it! I can't help with the bumper though. I know that they don't recommend them when they're newborns, but you may want it when they're older.

We spent a ridiculous amount on LO's bedding but we justified it by deciding she will likely stay in her crib for a while bc it converts to a toddler bed. We got her set from Pottery Barn Kids and got the set that comes with sheet, skirt, bumper (not using now bc we have the breathable one...she rolls all around her crib so we have a bumper to keep her limbs from getting stuck in the slats), a beautiful quilt that I plan to keep forever :)...we also got 2 extra sheets and the toddler sheet set (flat and fitted sheets and pillowcase). I figured she would get a lot of use of her bedding and they would get pretty worn with all the washing especially if she ever gets sick and throws up or wets the bed (shudder...get some good waterproof mattress covers)

Honestly if I could do it over I probably wouldn't have spent that much on her bedding but it was the only set my husband and I could agree on.

I think a la cart is the way to go. Can you see the stuff in person? I only suggest that because I've had 2 run-ins now with Restoration Hardware where I was disappointed in their quality. It looks beautiful in the photos.

I agree, i'd go a la carte. For what it's worth, we have lots of restoration hardware products in our home (duvet cover, shams, shower curtain, even baby clothing), and it is all exceptional quality. I've had the same duvet cover for more than 5 years and it still looks new.

It seems like an average price for a full bedding set, but IMO yes it's too expensive (I think they all are!). It just depends on what your budget is and what your spending priorities are.

You might want to check out Ebay and your local craigslist. Stuff like sheet sets usually are not used for very long (and things like bumpers and bedskirts are hardly used at all, and generally wouldn't come in contact with baby poop/puke so remain clean) and you can get great deals. We got a Pottery Barn set on Ebay for like $20 with shipping, looks absolutely brand new; you seriously cannot tell it was used. I'd rather go that route and bank the left over $250 on something that will last LO longer, or put it in her college fund.

But everyone has their "splurge" items!!

I don't think it seems too expensive for a set - but would be too expensive for me. I'd be hesitant to buy if you have to pay for shipping and can't feel it ahead of time!

I'm skipping the crib set because I don't want to use bumpers due to safety concerns. I'm lucky that my Mom offered to make a baby quilt for me (though I love some of them on Etsy) and then I'll purchase coordinating crib sheets or make them myself (easy! just elastic around the corners). I figure anything else that I'll actually use will be once they're into a toddler bed and I might want to redecorate by then!

Totally depends on what you're looking for...I originally fell in love with a set that was $380 but then realized that it I didn't really NEED to spend that much on bedding...not to mention, IMO, there's nothing really "special" about this bedding, you know? It looks very plain, which is great for a classic look--but I would personally feel better about spending that much if I knew that a lot of workmanship had gone into it. Also, as other posters have said, you're not supposed to use a bumper in the crib...I know some people use them after the baby is a certain age, but we probably won't use them period. Have you looked at Serena & Lily? Or Layla Grace? They each have a ton of really cute classic patterns/sets.

Funny how wanting simple and classic costs more than going with themed bedding! It's getting super frustrating trying to keep it simple!

we bought a bumper and never used it. i sold it for a fraction of the cost. so if you don't use the bumper, it is definitely on the pricey side. love rh baby's stuff though!

i also second carousel designs. they can do custom.

Love the decal! I agree with the others though, you don't even use the stuff in the sets. I bought separates, and you should easily be able to find solid color sheets, crib skirt, and if you want a breathable bumper. I think I got our. Light pink sheets at bru.

ya know it is really expensive BUT it's also all organic which is nice. If you can afford it and want to splurge on it for your baby i don't think you should hesitate.

Is there an age when the bumper (non-breathable) is safe? Is it when the baby can roll around on her own? Or is it never safe?
