Did anyone make the crib to bed transition when their toddler was still a pretty squirmy sleeper? How did they do?
LO is super close to climbing out of her crib, so we may have to transition pretty soon (she is 19 months)…but she still moves around so much while she sleeps. I feel like we will need to use a daybed or something that has taller sides so she doesn't fall out the top or bottom too!

We transitioned a couple months ago, and LO is very squirmy. We actually went from a crib to a floor bed, so we don't worry about her falling out, it's a short trip to the carpet 
She did roll out a few times the first week, but I think now she's used to it and stays put for the most part. She is 17 months, we transitioned at 15 because her crib sleep was awful!

I think our plan is to do the conversion if lo is still squirmy when we want to switch her. It seems to at least be more enclosed than a regular bed or most toddler beds. But my daughter is also 19 months and not climbing out yet, although I think it will be soon since she has suddenly started trying to climb railings elsewhere.

We did a floor bed first. Then we got her a full bed and we put guard rails up, we just have the boxspring on the ground with th mattress on top so it's not too high. I was going to just get a twin so it took up less room but I'm so happy we got the full now, it's great to cuddle for story time and she sprawls out and I don't worry about her falling as much.

We did this a couple of weeks ago, DS is all over the place when sleeping and so far falls off his bed every other night or so. We put a mattress on the floor so he doesn't hurt himself and we just replaced the bed rail with a higher one so hopefully that will help. Overall though he's much better off in his toddler bed and he really likes it.

DS was super squirmy and he was 3 when we moved him. We put him in a full size bed but only used 1 mattress so he was lower to the ground - we also used pool noodles on the sides - he still fell out.... a lot! It took about 6 months until he finally stayed in the middle of the bed
