Anyone do crossfit? I'm thinking of joining but am a little nervous it will be out of my league! I'm 5 months post-partum and have been running (3-4 miles) but haven't been doing weights in over a year. Do they tailor to your fitness level?

Do it! I absolutely love Crossfit - I've been doing it for more than a year an half and it really is one of the best things to ever happen to me. Any good box will give you good training to start and scale any movements you aren't comfortable with. When I started I thought I was in decent shape but had little strength. I couldn't do a pullup or a pushup. I've developed all those skills, added tons of weight to my lifts, and gotten involved in olympic lifting. Now all the coaches are helping me scale for my pregnancy. I really can't say enough good things about it.
I'll add that each box has its own personality, so if you try one and don't like it, don't let that discourage you from trying others in your area.
I know there are quite a few others on here who do crossfit so hopefully they will chime in.

Crossfit is amazing! I have been doing Crossfit for 4 years although I've had a hard time getting back into it after having my LO in February.
I recommend that everyone at least try Crossfit once. It's definitely not for everybody as some people don't like being pushed to go faster/harder, but I love how it can be tailored to any athlete. Regardless of your age, size, strength, abilities, etc. anyone can at least try Crossfit.
When I first tried Crossfit I was running half marathons and went with my running group. I thought I was in decent shape but I totally got my ass whooped and I couldn't straighten my arms for 3 days! I was totally hooked though!

Do it there are a bunch of crossfit threads on here from the handful of us who do it. It's all scaleable to your fitness level so you can jump right in!

Love it. Love it. Love it. Do it, you won't regret it!
Everything is scaleable and most CF gyms have a beginners'/on-ramp program to help get you familiar with the core lifts/concepts.
I was SO intimidated before my first workout, but now, even at 26 weeks pregnant, it is still one of my absolute favourite places to be!

Alright, I'm sold. The place I'm looking into has an Intro series which is 5 classes over 1.5 weeks that last 2 hours each so that had me intimidated. I have run for years and done a few marathons in the past (although it's been 3 years since I've done one) but I'm not even in my normal shape yet post-baby so it's a bit scary! I'll let you know how it goes!
