When I got engaged, planned my wedding, and got married my friends were not very supportive. It really upset me because I have been friends since preschool and I was the first to be married .... so shouldn't they be excited for me? I don't know if it was because they've never been married so they just didn't get how important it is, or they weren't in a good place in their own lives so they had trouble being happy for someone else, or both. Either way, I was very hurt.
One of those friends just got engaged. I can't help but be excited for her, and I'm a strong believer in two wrongs don't make a right. I'm going to make an extra effort to show her how happy I am for her and help with whatever she needs. My mom is the opposite, she holds grudges. I'm constantly telling her my favorite saying, two wrongs don't make a right, but she just doesn't go for it. I also think I'll get good karma if I'm nice to people.
Do you hold grudges, or are you able to let things go?
