I think Dakota Fanning, so girl. I don't mind the name although I've heard it used more often on pets (dogs and horses) recently than babies.

I think it can be used for either sex. I don't necessarily think of the Sioux tribe with the name Dakota except for the fact that the reservations are in the state of South Dakota. My family is Sioux and the correct name for the tribe is Lakota, not Dakota. It seems on the SSA baby site, it's actually been in the top 1000 names for boys since 1985, while for girls it didn't become popular until 1990.
