Who's in?
Where and when would work best for you? (Let's think January 2014 onward and somewhere Metro-accessible.)

Brrrr, good call on indoors
I would possibly be in. I'm in VA, but Vienna is the nearest metro station. It would of course all depend on date, location, LO, etc.

I might be in. If it were in the 'burbs I'd be more apt to join. I'm not too familiar with DC and would be a little uncomfortable navigating a new city alone with LO.
I'm a wuss.

DC is two hours from us but I could be interested, especially if it was a weekend...we could visit my BIL in Annapolis.

What about the National Building Museum.. it says age 2 but I think it looks like fun

I'm tentatively in. Weekends are harder for us than weekdays, but I know that's not the case for most.

Dc is about an hour from me, so I would be in. Somewhere easy to find and indoors!
weekend is best for me. I'm free all of january right now!

@septca: great idea! thanks for organizing.
@butterbean: i live near the vienna metro also! about a 10-minute walk.
@littlek: i didn't know you were in the dc metro area! i always recognize your posts because i loved that floppy hat your LO wore in your previous picture. i like the new one too!
january 11 and 25 work for me! can't do jan 18 because it's LO's bday weekend and family will be in town.

I vote for the 11th - the 18th is a holiday weekend and the 25th is DD's birthday weekend.

I'm tentatively in, but my life is such crap these days I don't want to bring down the whole mood!

@beaker: awww (((hugs)))
I'm tentatively in too. Will just depend on weather and finances! (Ugh)
The building museum was a neat idea! But my vote shouldn't count since I'm only tentative

I'm still a maybe. We're going to the National Championship, and I'll have to pick LO up from my parents on the way back. I don't know how long I'll stay with them before coming back home.

Ah, wish I'd seen this a week ago! 11th is out for us, I have reservations for a brewery tour for that day!
GOLD / wonderful pea / 17697 posts
@littlek: Troegs brewery in Hershey PA, up near us. It's our favorite beer, and I got us tickets as a Christmas gift to D!

@lovehoneybee: Why aren't we doing this as a meet up?! I've only spent one day in Hershey, but I thought it was a cute place!
GOLD / wonderful pea / 17697 posts
@Weagle: Yep, we live an easy drive away...E was actually born there! And I think that would make a super-fun meet-up (but mayyybe not so much for the kids, lol!)

@lovehoneybee: I'd love to go to Hershey!!! Have your heard of Dutch wonderland.. I hear it's great for kids!
GOLD / wonderful pea / 17697 posts
@littlek: Ha, I've never been but I actually passed by it today! It's on my way to Target! Maybe when the weather's nicer next summer we can organize a trip there!

I'd probably be up for the 11th, depending on where (Anywhere in the district or MD suburbs works for me, but I probably wouldn't venture too far into NoVa)... I'm a huge fan of the Building Museum myself

@cmomma17: @septca: @yellowbird: @Happygal: @butterbean: @sotofamilia: @dc yoga bee: @littlek: @Lozza: @beaker: i'm still up for it! i would host but i live pretty far out in fairfax in a small apartment. i haven't been to the national building museum, but i've heard it has some kids play areas--from the website it looks like the youngest recommended age for the "building zone" is 2 years. LO is only 1 year, but i'm happy to just hang out while carrying LO!

Okay, so we kind of fell off the wagon with this one, but I wanted to restart this thread to see if we could get a meet up happening.
Two things:
1. How many of us work in DC? Would anyone be interested in doing lunch sometime?
2. Can we get a picnic/museum outing on the books? I am thinking maybe one of the first few weekends in June?
pomelo / 5129 posts
I'd be interested!
I work in the city, but not in an area where it's convenient to get downtown for lunch (unless we did a Friday. I have half days in the summer time)
We could kill several of your birds with one stone if we did something at the Portrait Gallery. They have a cafe in the courtyard and if people wanted to explore before or after it would be easy enough!

If we do a Friday, I could take a day off and bring B for a meet up. My June is pretty open.
