I'm thinking of taking my 14 month old LO there this weekend and I read on their website that they have a section of the museum for 3 and under...i don't want to pay for the admission fee if it's not really worth it for my LO (maybe it will be when he is older)
have you taken your LO there? what was your experience like?

@edelweiss: how old is your LO? the museum seems promising... i'm just trying to think of places to take my LO where he can explore and play

@butterbean: my LO is 13 months (so right around the same age as yours!) and i can't believe that i haven't heard of this 3 and under area. he's not old enough for regular playground time, and baby & me-type classes fill up so quickly, that it's nice to hear about something that may be appropriate and fun for him. thanks for pointing it out!

I have not been, but most of the reviews I've heard are the same. It's not worth it for younger toddlers, it's expensive even for older ones for what you get. You can't have any food or drink inside, and there is no cafe/snack area, so you have to completely leave if a kid needs a little snack break or lunch. And I don't think it's very big. Apparently it was way better before renovations. I think it's probably not worth it for a 14 month old. There are so many free things to do in DC that will be entertaining.

@edelweiss: yea, we're trying to find family friendly places to take LO but the weather hasn't been too kind so we've been indoors (mostly our house) on the weekends. we'll take him to go run errands and stuff but I would love to just take him to place where he can just play...
@Weagle: thanks for your $0.02! i guess we'll save that trip for another time....maybe we'll take him to the zoo instead this weekend since the weather is supposed to be nice
