She has a terrible cold/flu and she's also got FOUR teeth coming in, and she is so miserable. Her runny nose is keeping her from sleeping well because she can't breathe, and it's also keeping her from nursing well.
She has probably cried more in the past two days then she has in the last six months combined. I am scared to sleep because I just keep watching her breathe. I hate this so much.

Poor Vi! This was us last weekend/week. I tried propping her up on the Boppy a few times to help with the breathing. It worked one night, but most of the time, she'd roll or flop herself off. Does Vi move a lot in her sleep? You can try the books under the mattress on one end. That didn't work for us because K rolls all around all directions in her sleep. All I can say is Motrin was a lifesaver for us. We did steam baths with eucalyptus oil for 5 nights, lots of NoseFrida-ing, and sleeping propped up on mom's arm/shoulder too. Hope she gets well soon!

@shopaholic: Yeah we have pillows under the mattress to put the bed at an incline and we've done steam baths and Hylands and ibuprofen but nothing seems to make much of a difference. She was fine Saturday morning but then that evening through now have just been hell.

Sleeping with a humidifier always helps out LO so she doesn't get dried boogers blocking up her nose even more!

@Reese: No and I want my mom here SO bad. My parents live overseas and she's going to be visiting soon (17 days) but not soon enough. We don't have anybody here. And if DH stays home tomorrow, his work is going to be pissed not to mention the financial impact of a missed day of work. He went today despite being really sick because we need the money but I think I'm going to make him stay home tomorrow because he looks awful and I'm afraid he'll get worse if he works through it.
This sucks so much.

having support far away makes it SO MUCH HARDER. I wish I could help. Hopefully someone will be on the mend soon.. Do whatever you have to do to survive.. screen time.. alcohol...whatever! sending you healthy vibes!!ETA - I didn't mean alcohol for DD... obviously
