@dc yoga bee: I'm also going to do coq10 for egg health and continue with acupuncture... next cycle is monitoring and testing so fingers crossed this one worked!

@dc yoga bee - We never had a game plan! I thought we were going to NTNP, but apparently that isn't the "plan" anymore. If this month doesn't end in a BFP, I think I will prob see if I can talk DH into TTC in early 2017. I've been getting baby fever off and on for a couple months now. Not sure how I feel about going through it all again, BUT, when I think about being done I just don't feel like we are!

Opks, and try to bd a lot during fertile window. When we conceived DD (month 3 of ttc) we bd'd 5 days in a row. Don't know how we'd find time for that now!
Also hoping I don't O early, because of the holiday weekend. Ugh.

@Mrs. Microscope: same here. We were lucky to conceive LO on month three of TTC and because of a trip had time to BD every day. Things aren't going to work out that way this time around!! How old is your LO?

@snarkybiochemist: @Banana330: Do you take the coq10 all at once or split into multiple doses?
Thank you! I ordered some in ubiquinol form and it just arrived.

@dc yoga bee: Our game plan is just the usual of BD as often as possible during the fertile window. Since this is #1 we haven't had too much of a problem hitting the most fertile days, but that still doesn't seem to be workin...
I'm going in Monday to get my vit D levels checked and if they're low I will ask for a prescription for a high dose supplement. And I am planning to try CoQ10 for egg quality. I'll also continue with acupuncture. They recommend twice a week but the most I can swing with my work schedule is once per week, not sure if it's doing anything for fertility but it is really relaxing..

@periwinklebee: naturopath suggested 300mg x2 a day of coq10. Or 300 mg of ubiqunol (a stronger form of coq10) once a day.
nectarine / 2180 posts
@periwinklebee: my doc recommended 300mg 2x a day, I bought 200mg pulls so I'm taking 200mg in the morning and 400mg in the evening since they are gelcaps and cannot be split in half

I’ve been somewhat concerned for awhile that I may have low progesterone, as my luteal phase tends to be on the short side (though not short enough to clearly indicate a luteal phase defect) and I sometimes start spotting at 8 or 9 dpo. Taking Charge of Your Fertility says that you can tell if low progesterone is an issue by whether your temps hover too close to the coverline after ovulation. However, I don’t really know what is too close…I also read that temps rising slowly after ovulation can be a sign of weak ovulation, which seems to be related to low progesterone, but what is meant by rising slowly?
Maybe I should try to get an RE referral to talk about my concerns, but then I worry that I’m just being too impatient and getting concerned about nothing, and won’t be taken seriously until we’ve tried longer. I’ve uploaded a few recent charts - sorry, for some reason I can’t get that transparent thing on top of the chart to go away, but hopefully its legible. o should be the last day marked with an F. Do other people’s charts look anything like this, or does your chart tend to show a sharper temp rise?
Thank you, I super appreciate it.

TTC Cycle: 3

POAS Date: 12/1

What's up this month: This month I took Clomid CD 4-8 (i know that is unusual, but it was what the doctor ordered!) and we did our first (and hopefully last!) IUI.
For Fun: What's your favourite winter activity? I love snuggling by the fire! Our wood burning fireplace is one of my favorite things. We light a fire in the winter pretty much every day!

@periwinklebee: I am unfamiliar with the app you use, so I can't tell what your coverline is, but the two most recent charts (Nov. 15 and Oct. 27 seem to have a clear ovulation pattern. The spotting at 8-9dpo can be a problem, but not necessarily. You mentioned before that you are on cycle 5, but how old are you? If you are under 30, I wouldn't worry. 30-35, I'd call your doctor and order cd3 blood work and post-O for next cycle. If 35+, talk about further testing. No need for an RE yet, unless you have diagnosed issues or its been 1 year trying. Good luck!

@Mrs. Microscope: Thank you! I'm 33. I wish my GP would do some basic testing, but she told me if I want the cd3 and cd22 blood work done they'll have to refer me to a fertility specialist because they don't do that. Maybe I should just ask for the referral, even if it seems a bit like overkill at this point, as I don't think there's another way for me to get those tests.

@periwinklebee: I definitely can seeO, they look like pretty good charts. Mine have always been really rocky until these last two cycles but even when I got pregnant with my DD it was all over the place. That said you can be pregnant with terrible charts and not pregnant with perfect ones. There's just so much chance!
Make sure you track the spotting. It might help your doc give you an earlier referral...

How is everyone doing?
I'm so ready for this cycle to be over, one way or another. We started the cycle as NTNP, then DH changed his mind and we have been using the pull-n-pray method since.
I do still think I ovulated early so there is a chance, but if I didn't ovulate early, then there definitely isn't. So basically I have a 3 week window where I could be waiting on AF!
The good news is, I can tell that DH is coming around to the idea of TTC again, but we will probably wait until after the holidays if so. So if we are out this time around then it will be nice to know that next month I won't have to symptom obsess, and it will give me time to temp for a couple cycles too.
Anywho- sorry for the long winded post!

@DaniNae: you're nervous, especially since you weren't actually in full ttc mode, so totally understandable! That's what we are here for!
CD 6 here, gearing up to get back in the ttc groove. And started opks today, so in case I O early we can catch it! We are traveling this week, but staying in a VRBO and DD is in her own room, so no privacy worries. Fingers crossed!

@Mrs. Microscope - now that you mention it, I AM nervous! I feel like I'm in pergatory!
Before I had baby#3, my cycles were always 28-29 days. But my cycles are irregular now (25-34 days). If I was temping and had pinpointed ovulation, I would probably not be stressed at all. What is stressing me out is feeling lost in my cycle so I don't know when to expect AF. A TWW is long enough... let along a 3 weeker!
Also- what is a VRBO?

going for an HSG tomorrow, anyone have any tips besides taking 800-1000mg Advil before the start? Also fingers crossed my doc can get me scheduled for a uterine biopsy before Thanksgiving and that my hormones remain low and I can start a clomid challenge

@snarkybiochemist: I think bring a pad in case there is some spotting after... good luck!
pear / 1788 posts
@DaniNae: VRBO is vacation rental by owner. Like airbnb. So we have a whole cottage to ourselves. Our family doesn't need to hear DD screeching for bananas at 6:30am, or be expected to keep quiet at 7pm when she goes to bed. Same price as a hotel, but we have a full kitchen and laundry which is so nice with a toddler.

@snarkybiochemist: That's all I did. Took 800mg Motrin beforehand. I brought a pantyliner, but the office had some as well. My RE told us to have sex after 24 hours and the next two days.

My CM has completely dried up, and there was so much of it on CD 9 and CD 10. I'm on CD 13 and I still haven't gotten a positive opk either. I guess the acupuncture really was making me ovulate earlier. I feel like I have no idea what is going on with my body. So frustrating!
nectarine / 2317 posts
@Tionn3: last cycle I had tons of CM around cd 10 but didn't O until cd 14. Which makes sense cause you're most fertile before you O. I felt like I was Oing after acupuncture (CD12) this cycle but didn't O until CD 15...I did eventually get my positive OPK.
kiwi / 680 posts
@Banana330: I guess you can get EWCM up to 6 days before ovulation, so if I had it on CD 9 and then ovulate 6 days later...that would be CD 15...? I forgot to bring my OPKs to work today so I won't be able to test until the evening. In the past I have gotten positives on CD 14...Silver lining...I probably won't be on my period for Ireland, and I might even be ovulating =P

Fingers crossed for lots of good news this Christmas for us all...
Cycle Day: 5
TTC Cycle: 4
Ovulation Date: Dec 5ish
POAS Date: Dec 19
Baby #: 2
What's up this month: Had a minor surgery last month which ended up pushing off everything by a week and led to some false hopes after 6 days of delayed AF... also, my OPKs were expired (head slap) which explains some weirdness there. Got my ducks better lined up this month!

I talked to my nurse practitioner and she said given that I'm in my mid-30s, she would recommend getting the ball rolling with testing sooner rather than later. So I have an appt scheduled with the infertility clinic that my PCP refers to for early January. Two more chances for a BFP between now and then... I think it's a really good clinic, so I'm super grateful for that if we get to that point.
I also spent too much time on hold today trying to change some flight reservations so I can be home during my fertile window next month. I was originally going to travel a little more for fun after my work obligations, and maybe I'm crazy, but I don't want to miss any opportunities to try if it's not completely necessary.

I'm not going to put a POAS date at all, because I'm really not paying attention too much this cycle.
I miscarried 10/26 and I'm waiting for my period. I was given the Ok from my Dr to go ahead and start trying whenever. So we haven't used any protection. Although we haven't DTD much since we both have been sick for 3 weeks! Gah! But crazier things have happened!
So long store short, I'll be popping in and out! Cheering everyone along!
