    @MrsBrewer:

Well, this has never happened before! I just got a flashing smiley face on cd 12! I normally ovulate cd 16/17 before having DD, and 19/21 after with an 8 day luetal phase. I've been taking 500mg Metformin for a month (1000/1500 makes me very ill), taking my vitamin D, and drinking red raspberry leaf tea. In-laws will be here Wednesday, so I woke dh up before work! I hope I don't have many days of flashing!

@dc yoga bee: I don't know how those monitors work but could it be a presurge? Did you take metformin with your DD? It sound like everyone's cycle is weird this month! Good luck getting BD in!

@Banana330: The advanced monitor checks for rise in estrogen first, which is high fertility, and then the LH hormone which signals ovulation. This is my first time taking Metformin, but it's supposed to balance hormones and ovulation. I hope it's working!

HSG went fine and my tubes look clear YAY! They drew blood for hormone levels and depending on what they are I could be starting Clomid tomorrow just in time for the side effects to kick in over Thanksgiving with family!

It is CD 14 and I still haven't gotten a positve opk yet. In the past I usually have one by now...I have no idea what is going on, and my CM is pretty much dried up. I don't even know why I'm still trying. I want to go to my obgyn but I know they are just going to send me home and tell me to keep trying.

@snarkybiochemist: That's great news, it seems like you are making great progress on finding the best treatment plan.

@Tionn3: Would your insurance give you the option to see another obgyn? Or could your GP refer you directly to an RE/fertility specialist, rather than going through an OB? Or could you choose a new GP and start fresh? I know these aren't ideal, I just really hate to see you forced to wait so long for some basic testing. I was expecting to have to jump through a bunch of hoops to get a referral - as I've had it be annoying before - but surprisingly enough I just asked a nurse who works at my clinic and she was like "I'm so sorry, I've gone through infertility myself, I'll ask our referral coordinator to get it processed asap." Anyways, I'm rooting for you to get more answers soon...

@Tionn3: Thanks, sorry you are having such a tough time and are working with a doc who doesn't want to help
@periwinklebee: its the only time I am thankful for PCOS. I am at CD 13 and could be starting Clomid tomorrow if my hormone levels are still behaving like its only CD4-5
@Banana330: @jhd: thanks so glad to have people to share this with who understand

@periwinklebee: @snarkybiochemist: It is just hard because I have Kaiser, so they make everything harder because they are an HMO. I don't want to call to early, because then I feel like they won't take me seriously. I just need to hold out till March.

  23. snarkybiochemist

    nectarine / 2180 posts

@Tionn3: Good luck holding out, its frustrating how arbitrary the rules are for getting testing or seeing an RE. I understand they don't want women who have tried for a month coming in for testing but at the same time we should be able to raise concerns to our doctor and have them take us seriously.

@Tionn3: Agreed with @snarkybiochemist: Good luck with everything and hope you o soon. You mentioned stopping acupuncture - I did it once in August, didn't like it and stopped, and then started a couple of months later at a different clinic, and each time it affected my o date, so I wonder if that could be contributing?

@Banana330: I've been taking CoQ10 for a few days and so far no side effects or difficulty sleeping, thankfully! Keeping my fingers crossed it will give my eggs a little extra boost...

  25. Tionn3

@periwinklebee: I think that it is possible that the acupuncture made me ovulate early the last 2 months. When I was doing BBT, It was not unusual for me to see a temperature shifts as late as CD 17, and my earliest ever was actually CD 15. So maybe the last two months were the exception not the rule. What I really need is a vacation! The silver lining is that maybe now I won't be on my period for the last week of my vacation that I take over the Christmas holiday! That was actually why I skipped out on acupuncture this month, because I suspected it was triggering my ovulation too soon. Just need to remember to BREATHE =]

@Tionn3: I hear you on needing a vacation! Only one month until Christmas....

So this month I had a birthday night out on Saturday night (so temps were high from drinking on sun) and positive opk on Sunday morning (almost positive on Sat evening). My temps were a bit weird this cycle. FF is telling me I O'd on sat night, Kindara is saying Sunday. Even if O discard my Ff temp for Sunday it still tells me I O'd Saturday. Can you even O before your positive opk? I think I felt O pains on Sunday night.

Anyone have an opinion on which days I actually O'd?

  28. periwinklebee

    grapefruit / 4466 posts

@Banana330: If you think you felt it on Sun, I'd go with that, the pos opk on Sun would suggest that as well. It's hard to tell for sure without a reliable temp on Sun.

    grapefruit / 4770 posts

@Banana330: totally. You're Lh surge can be too weak at the time you're testing to pick up on opk.

DH put his phone on the pee-dipper part of my opk this morning, still wet! When I commented on it, he was upset as to why it was on the bathroom counter, next to the toilet. Really?! I mean, I wipe the counter after I read it, but he came in and plopped his phone on it while I was still in the shower before I had the chance. #poasproblems, hahaha.

@Mrs. Microscope: I use our hall bathroom instead of our master bath for this reason, I don't want my husband setting stuff on the sticks. The only problem with this is I have to really make sure I clean up before we have guests

I start Clomid tonight, have blood work on Monday and an Ultrasound on 12/1. Still not sure what that means for ovulation or POAS date, but I am both very excited and very nervous.

@snarkybiochemist: we live in a small condo, only 1 bathroom upstairs. House next year this won't be a problem! But by then I hope to have a baby and be done! Also, yay for clomid and trying something new!
