December 2018 POAS

    @Jessiemuller88: I'm glad you are beginning to feel better and gain more hope.

    I began drinking bone broth (* I know, YUCK, right?! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿคฃ Actually, it has grown on me.) mid-month 2 cycles ago, as a herbalist and massage therapist I know informed me that bone broth contains calcium and collagen and is packed full of the amino acids proline and glycine. All of these are needed to build a strong endometrial lining and regulate one's cycle. I also take my regular prenantals, folic acid, and DHA supplements. Post-OV, I eat pineapple (with core) for the added Bromelain which reduces inflammation in the body, including in the uterus, and slightly thins the blood which is said to aid in implantation (similar to Aspirin therapy). I believe, since the bone broth has been the only change I have implemented in the last 60 or so days, it may be the catalyst for my follicular phase increase the last 2 cycles. I'm really hoping for good things this cycle ... but, hey, if it doesn't happen, we have our RE appt on the 5th, so there is always that. ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ‘ #GottaKeepPositive

    @paranundrum: How are you holding up? Is everything well? ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ

    @Sams Mom: Where are you hiding, lady? ๐Ÿ™‚

    @Yellowbeach: ๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™€๏ธ Cycle update?

    Update: Afternoon OPK confirmed LH surge for CD 10. Very exciting. Now, just got to get DH to come home from work, DS to take a nap, and DD over to her friend's house for a bit ... ๐Ÿคฃ

    @Kaohinani: ok, maybe my complaining made my body listen, opk is finally darker, but still not positive. Ewcm is still there, but not a lot, hopefully positive opk tonight!

    @Kaohinani: Not much happening over here in my corner. Today I upped my estrogen from once a day to twice a day. I have an US on Wed to take a look at my ovaries and my lining. I think Wed we should have a better sense if Dec 3 will in fact be our transfer date vs +/- a day.

    I did just book the three of us a 2 night stay at a cabin in the mountains to rest after our FET. DH is still bummed we can't go do something more exciting, but I think this looks pretty cool. Did I mention they have an optional bounce house rental, too?

    @LAZB: That is awesome news! ๐Ÿ‘
    Fingers crossed for a POS OPK tonight! ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿ‘
    If you do, we are on the same cycle again. ๐Ÿ™‚

    @Yellowbeach: For nothing to update, that was a great update! ๐Ÿ˜ I'm hoping Dec 3rd is a go for your FET, although earlier may be nice ... later would disrupt your family trip which, incidentally, looks AMAZING! I am jealous! It looks similar to the log cabin my grandparents used to have in New Hampshire (such lovely memories of snowboarding, snowmobiling, and holidays by the fire.). The bounce house rental sounds perfect for entertaining the LO (or even yourselves if the childlike notion for "bouncing" hits ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿคฃ).

    @Kaohinani: still alive over here. Not much going on on my front. I just took my first opk of the cycle and not even close to positive (not surprised). I am worried that fertile week is falling on house full of company week ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

    @Sams Mom: Oh, no!!!!!! BD-ing with company in town is such a PITA to do! ๐Ÿ˜ซ I hope you can either make it to OV BEFORE they descend upon your home or AFTER they pack their last bag to go. Good luck, hun!

    @Sams Mom: ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ‘ We love them. G (and T) uses all of their products... After 5 years purchasing from them and sending gifts through them, I could probably work for the Honest Co. ๐Ÿคฃ

    Eek ๐Ÿ˜ฌ I just realized that my POAS date for Dec is probably within a week or less of when I can expect to get my board exam results. This could either be the most amazing Christmas ever, or the worst, with potential for everything in between. Suddenly feeling like this POAS month is even higher stakes than usual. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

    Can't decide if it's positive or just really close. Hopefully it will be blazing tomorrow and I won't have to question it!

    @LAZB: man Iโ€™d say thatโ€™s like 99% if not ๐Ÿ’ฏ %. Curious to see it tomorrow morning.

    @Kaohinani: thanks for the tips and yay for a positive OPK!! Where do you find bone broth?

    @Yellowbeach: that cabin looks amazing! Is it in Tennessee? Mountain trips are my favorite.

    @Lazb: itโ€™s so hard for me to read these too, but Iโ€™d say you are pretty close!

  18. Sams Mom

    grapefruit / 4492 posts

    @yellowbeach: that is a whole lot of scary/exciting potential in a short time frame, ahhhhhh

    @LAZB: I think you're almost there, like if you test in the morning and it's a little lighter, you likely surged overnight, or you'll get a blazing positive tomorrow.

    @Kaohinani: I'm well, thanks for asking! I don't usually get online much during the weekend.

    I think ov was yesterday, I had a positive OPK on Saturday and a small temp rise today. I'll update when FF confirms.
    I think we got our bases covered as much as we were able.

    I had a quiet weekend in, I have more concerts coming next weekend so I rested as much as I could. Accomplishments over the weekend: one and a half socks knitted and about nine episodes of Downton Abbey watched.

  20. Sams Mom

    @paranundrum: I LOVE Downton! Annnnnnd they're making a movie

    Good morning. I apologize for being so absent yesterday. It appears so much happened that I missed. Please, I hope no one thinks that I was avoiding the board.
    Yesterday began spectacularly including early morning BD-ing ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜‰, but I kept telling my husband I felt off and almost like a seizure was coming on (slight metallic taste in my mouth, light trembling in my hand, an inability to articulate ... ) afterwards. It has been well over 18 mos since my last and I've been well regulated with medication so I didn't think TOO much of it but I do know to keep an eye on my seizure aura. 2 hours passed and no seizure - weird. I figured I was safe. DH went to work. Shortly before 9 am, symptoms progressed (full blown sucking pennies, inability to come up with words while speaking to the dog) and THEN, I awoke with Pili over me and Luna frantically trying to get inside from out. I had a splitting headache (as I had hit my head on either the doorframe or baby/dog gate) and, as per after all of my seizures, I am discombobulated and exhausted. After collecting myself, I alerted DD (thank you Alexa/Echo Dot intercom) and we called DH. My entire day was spent with a splitting headache and sleeping off the seizure on the couch. Everything appears fine this morning although I may be starting with a lovely UTI from all of the BD-ing. Go figure. Always something to keep me on my toes. ๐Ÿคฃ

    Affixed pic = lovely temporal/forehead "lump" I am sporting. Gorgeous, eh? ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿคฃ

  37. LAZB

    pomegranate / 3904 posts

    @Kaohinani: oh my goodness, you poor thing! I didn't realize you dealt with seizures too, you go through so much! Hope you don't have a UTI!

    @LAZB: I AM a mess. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‚ But, it is all I know: Seizure disorder, Fibromyalgia, migraines (which may be in part due to the seizures OR Fibromyalgia), Sjogren's syndrome, allergies (wheat, bees, latex, etc), and circulatory issues (Raynaud's syndrome & May Thurner's). Many of my issues are ADs or can be aligned to ADs. BUT, I am functional and take the minimal amount of medication I can in order to maintain my health so I am happy. ๐Ÿ™‚ Things could ALWAYS be worse. #KeepingPositive
