December 2018 POAS

@Sams Mom: It should but I agree, it is probably the added progesterone.

I have progesterone sensitivity (weird, I know as a woman's body is chock FULL of it throughout one's cycle) which plagues me with more painful joints and an increase in Fibro flare, cystic breasts toward the end of the TWW, headaches, post ovulatory hormonal acne, a heightened sense of smell which causes me to feel nauseous at times, (tmi) constipation, and phantom PMS/pregnancy symptoms. I can never tell what the heck is going on when my progesterone levels are high because I just feel "ill." My Clomid cycles did a number on me (* remember the veiny breasts, bloat, and gagging at smells?). Each of my pregnancies also began with a bit of swelling, nausea from smells, and sore breasts but I do not believe it was the actual pregnancy (HCG) that caused the symptoms, rather the rise in progesterone to sustain said pregnancies. My last OBGYN told me that I, probably, would not be a candidate for any progesterone supplementation (which is good as my levels run on the higher-normal range; hence, the long Luteal phase.).

@Kaohinani: eh, I can see a line on anything lol

I was just at the grocery store and of course decided to pick up another test (although they were out of the three pack! Ugh!). The check out girl said “hoping?” As she scanned the box. I said “yep, we will see”. She asked if it would be my first and when I said “nope, my fourth” she said “wow! You don’t look like you’ve had three kids!”
Totally made my day since I definitely look like I’ve had three kids 🤣

@LAZB: Isn't it the best when an unexpected compliment comes your way?
Absolutely makes my day when it happens to me.

Hey, 💁‍♀️ if you can see a line on anything, we are doing a "Wine, cheese, and POAS night" here with the ladies we have been on the POAS board with for the last I can't count months. 🤣😂 I'm going to have you look at my sticks in the hopes SOMETHING magically appears! 🤞🤣🤣🤣🤣

@Kaohinani: Totally a random tangent, but there are only like 2 wines I like, but it is so not kosher to have long island iced teas while awaiting a positive.

And I can't stop picking at my 3rd eye, which is making it look worse. I don't know why I act like I don't know where my son gets his incessant picking from (oops).

@Sams Mom: Drink till it is pink, right? 🍾🍷🍸🍹🍻 ... then a sip to celebrate.
Wow, that made me sound like a HUGE lush when, in fact, I rarely drink. 🤣

  6. LAZB

    pomegranate / 3904 posts

@Kaohinani: I’m in for a wine anything! Post something and I will give you hope or false hope lol. My only caveat is that while I see lines on frers, I am skeptical of them now, so cannot celebrate them unless they are darker

  7. LAZB

    pomegranate / 3904 posts

@Sams Mom: wine is my jam, red, white, rose, sparkling, I love it all! Well, not all, but too much lol. I have a glass or sometimes two most nights now, not a great habit I’ve gotten into.

@LAZB: I think the fact that I like liquor a lot more than wine is my saving grace on having a drink with dinner. I think I've had 10 alcoholic beverages since May 16, 2015. I can be that specific because I got hammered ass drunk at my wedding trying to drink the nerves away, and that is the day after my wedding.

@LAZB: Perhaps I'll POAS tomorrow, IDK. 🤔 I'm not feeling incredibly certain about this cycle with all that went down with my seizure and then the UTI. If I do, I'm hoping you've got your "line eye goggles" on and Sam's Mom can tweak the heck out of it. 😂

@Kaohinani: That's what I'm here for! I may or may not have like 2 picture editing apps on my phone solely for pee sticks

@Sams Mom: I was going to write, "Are you serious?!" But, then I paused and thought about it for a second ... Yes, I CAN imagine that you would. 😉 And I'm absolutely grateful that you would have them as I do not.

@Kaohinani: hell I've got like 4 period/fertility tracking apps, milestone app for Sam or 2 maybe. I'm all about the apps.

And now I have Megan Trainor All About that Bass stuck in my head

    Couldn't resist. 😉🤣

Hi girls! This must be the busiest thread on here, so fun and chatty. I read where I can. Just popping in to say hi. I'm pretty well finished miscarrying I believe (will have one more ultrasound to confirm) and now just sorta waiting for a period and then to start trying again.

  15. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

So, because I'm not really "feeling" this cycle (I mean, none of my BBT apps can agree on OV and my health has been terrible) and I'm only 9/10 dpo, I POAS. (*waiting for @Sams Mom and @Yellowbeach to applaud me here. 🤣)

THIS should prove that I'm not joking when I state that I couldn't even get a second line if I drew it on myself ... I used a d#mn FRER which are notorious for indents and FPs and I can't even get a second one!!! 😂🤣😂🤣😅😪😢😭😭😭😭😭 Uck, I give up.

@Autumnmama79: Hi, nice to see you again. Fingers crossed 🤞 that your cycle starts soon so you can begin TTC again.

@Autumnmama79: Thank you, it is okay. 💁‍♀️ I'm nearing 3 years of them. I do know it is still early enough and my actual POAS date isn't until Dec 5th so I still have a tiny freckle of hope. 😉

@Kaohinani: Three years.... Hugs. I'm sure you've covered this but what do the docs say?

  20. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@Autumnmama79: "Unexplained Secondary Infertility." (* I have a 3.75 year old DS and a 10-1/2 year old DD.) All tests and scans for both DH and I come back clear and with great numbers. I have shorter Follicular phases (with ovulation on CD 8-12) and 14-16 day long Luteal phases.
I am edging towards forty but the last check on my eggs was that they "looked phenomenal." Clomid did NOTHING for me.
DH and I will be seeing a new RE on the 5th. Hopefully, we can revisit a few tests and, perhaps, discuss a few options (ICI, IUI with or without trigger, etc.).

@Kaohinani: We have many similarities! Our kids are close in age - and so are we. That darn clock is hard to ignore isn't it? 40 seems like such a definitive number in terms of fertility. I hope your appt on the 5th is a positive one, I'll be interested to hear the outcome and what you might do going forward.

  22. Sams Mom

    grapefruit / 4492 posts

@Kaohinani: I might have spent the last 10 minutes tweaking your stick. Don't feel alone though. I've been at this shit so long my photo app is giving me look back on this day 1 year ago and it's 50 pictures of the same pee stick 🤦‍♀️

  23. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@Autumnmama79: Yes, it is extremely difficult to silence the "tick-tock!" 😉 Louder and louder with each passing year -- akin to Poe's "Telltale Heart" at times!!! 🤣
Thank you. I shall keep you updated.

@Sams Mom: You are THE BEST.
Honestly, don't worry about it ... it is SO negative and SO white that next year's Behr paint color of the year shall be named:
"Kaohinani's Stark White BFN." 😉🤣 People will be painting their walls my painful white and calling it "fresh" and "crisp" rather than "desperate" and "barren."
Wow, that took a turn for the dark quick. 😶😶😶😶😉🤣

  25. Sams Mom

    grapefruit / 4492 posts

@Kaohinani: I feel you! Yes I'm 22 cycles in now, so not as long, but come on! I KNOW CPs and miscarriages are so much worse. But the fact that I haven't had a single faint line in 22 months makes me feel like crap!

  26. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@Sams Mom: At this point, I don't think a year apart in the TTC journey makes too much of a difference, especially considering the amount of medications you have taken! 😉 I tried to steer clear of anything "invasive" for as long as possible. I've tried herbs, teas, fertility massage, reflexology, acupuncture, myo-inositol, vitamin mixes (including more b-complex and D), organic only GF and grass-fed meals, AND THEN Clomid (which didn't help except to give me 18 day luteal phases and horrible side effects). You, yellow, and laz amaze me with your ability to keep going with all of the fertility meds. Paranundrum is another one that amazes and inspires me.

@Kaohinani: hmmmm, I don’t see anything on that one, I guess my line eye skills aren’t always there lol

This is my osom, I don’t see anything except something catches my eye. When I look directly though, I see nothing, which is why I think line eye

@Kaohinani: ok, Google rabbit hole time. Low progesterone can suppress thyroid function. Supplementing progesterone can increase TPO receptors for thyroid improving thyroid function. I have hashimotos (autoimmune thyroid) that manifests as hypothyroidism in me usually.

@LAZB: It is okay. You are allowed to have "off days" with your line eye ability. 😉🤣
Next stick though .... We both get 2 lines. 🤞

  30. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@Sams Mom: I thought your OBGYN explained that to you and that was why you were INITIALLY excited to begin progesterone? 🤷‍♀️Maybe it was bc I knew it, I assumed that you did because you are the queen of info on thyroid dysfunctions. 🤣

@LAZB: @Kaohinani: what dpo are you ladies? I feel like I have line eyes after staring at y’all’s tests!! I can always see “something”. I’m hoping y’all both get a clear BFP in the next few days!

I’m having no symptoms except a weird pinching feeling. I’m only 7DPO so way too early to test.

@Kaohinani: I think you held out on me lady. I knew that they were linked somehow, but I was trying to lay off Dr Google 😂

I was just excited for something new

@Jessiemuller88: Thank you, hun. I am 9 dpo according to 2 BBT apps I use (1 for oral BBT and one for my Tempdrop BBT) AND I am 10 dpo according to FF. This cycle is just weird. 🤣

    Hi all,

Hoping you can give me some advice!

    Here are the details...

    Cycle Day: 25
    TTC Cycle: 3
    Ovulation Date: November 18
    POAS Date: December 2
    Baby #: 1

I’m not due to POAS until Sunday, but I was feeling a bit nauseous so I caved and bought a pregnancy test today. I always figured it would be really obvious if I was pregnant so I’m a bit thrown by the test. In person there is definitely a faint second line. I’d even call it pink…maybe? And I’ve read that when you’re testing early you can get faint results. But is this all just in my head??? Are faint lines or indents common? Has anyone experienced this and not been pregnant? I plan to retest in a couple days to see if the line is more pronounced. I’m just frustrated by the ambiguity of it all. If I knew I was pregnant I could let myself get excited and if I knew I wasn’t... well, I could at least enjoy a glass of wine!

  39. Kaohinani

I'll just sit here and pout in my wine as I gag on it. Lol. I poured a 1/2 glass to have while DH drank his beer but it tastes as though it has turned. 😪 Man, today is not panning out for me.

P.S. For those who read my care.com question: We interviewed babysitter #2 and #1 is a definite fit. #2 not-so-much.

  40. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@Blythe: That looks pretty darn BFP. Yeah, FRERS are known for indents (without pink color) and false BFPs due to their low MIU (6.5 miu) but THAT looks positive. A cautious congratulations! 🙂🙂🙂🙂
