December POAS - Santa Babies!

    @Mrs. D: weird!

@wheres_c: Imo, it's better to skip a month and make sure mama is healthy (and that you will be able to complete all necessary testing, etc.).

@marley: I don't know much about supplements (other than what I've read lately about Vit D), but hopefully your chart will start making more sense soon!

As for me, I O'd 4 days early (or, to be more precise, I got a peak reading on my CBEFM 4 days before I normally would). Maybe it's a result of the Vit D? I don't know. The tricky part is that I missed my testing window yesterday, but wasn't too worried about it because I *knew* that I wasn't due to O for another 3 or 4 days (and the CBEFM had only started prompting me to test yesterday, so, at best, I thought I might have missed a high reading, if anything). I was shocked to see a peak reading this morning! So, I took advantage of my sleepy SO this morning, and am hoping I don't actually O until later today/tomorrow.

@pwnstar: still weird. Temp was 99.39 this morning. Smiley face still flashing.

Well after going through more pregnancy tests than I'd like to admit this cycle, the red lady has decided to finally show up. I took this month really hard (actually harder than my CP in October). I genuinely felt like this was my month, and feel sort of stunned by the whole thing. When you feel connected to your body, and that connection is wrong, it's a big pill to swallow. Now that I have my answer (yesterday was the rough day when I had yet another negative and a sizeable dip in temp), I'm feeling better today, refreshed by a new cycle and an answer.

I think this was a valuable lesson. I have such utter respect to women that have been trying for so long, because after three cycles I am feeling the drain of it all. I have my hopes high for a little fall baby, and am thankful for the lessons about myself and my body in the meantime

Sending congratulations to all of the mamas with positives this month - sending you all of my good vibes and sticky juju!!

@marley: I would just keep BDing every other day (which before all of this TTC nonsense was much more fun! and spontaneous!). Hopefully, you'll get a solid smiley soon . . . the CBE website indicates that, in a study of 87 women, 66% of women had 0-4 high days, and that 25% of women had 5-9 high days . . . ? Gah. I'm sorry. The uncertainty sucks ass. (It makes me a grumpy bugger too!)

@narwhal: I just want to say that I get where you're coming from. I had an early loss in November that hit me much (much) harder than I expected. We had great timing, I felt *pregnant*, and was feeling so confident when I got that first faint BFP. And now with this cycle and Oing so early, I feel like I don't have a freaking clue what's going on, and it certainly gets the better of me from time to time.

@marley: out of curiosity, do you have a cheap pregnancy test around that you could take?

@narwhal: sorry to hear about this month for you.

@Kitkat: sorry to hear clomid hasn't done it's trick for you yet. Fingers crossed that O comes soon for you.

Nothing fun going on over here. BFN's on 9 and 10dpo. Big temp drop this morning ( but still above coverline) but feeling like AF will be here any minute. Super lame, I thought we had this month in the bag, plus cycle 2 has been our lucky cycle for both previous pregnancies. The only positive is if I get af tomorrow, that's a 2 day improvement on my luteal phase from last month... I guess that's a silver lining.

    kiwi / 706 posts

@MrsB2012: haha I actually took a FRER (BFN) (I didnt' have any cheapies and didn't want to wait to order some). I was thinking that my 2-day AF wasn't AF at all, but I think it probably was. I can't but think that I overdid it with the supplements and just ruined everything.

also, sorry about the temp drop. They are awful.

@MrsB2012: sorry about the early bfn

@Kitkat: good luck for testing! I got my thyroid checked and ended up needing lowest dose meds due to being higher than 'idea ttc range' according to my OB, so hoping this makes a difference for you too.

@marley: what's happening with you? Sorry I've been MIA for a while as I'm away on holiday. Trying to let go of some of my ttc angst! Hope you're going ok!

@narwhal: sorry about AF! I had the same this cycle, as it was a few days longer than normal and had high hopes. It's so hard! But worth it in the end

@Nutella: not much except I seem to be having a 10-day long low-grade fever, according to my bbt. Scroll up for my insane chart. It's only gotten more crazy.

@marley: holy Moses - are you having a fever?! This is pretty crazy. I saw that you changed thermometers, I would be puzzled too!

    nectarine / 2466 posts

@marley: when did you take the FRER? Is a 2 day AF normal for you? That is so bizarre!

I'm officially out and onto the next. Super bummed. At least I can have some holiday drinks though.. I guess.

  18. marley

    kiwi / 706 posts

@Nutella: @MrsB2012: umm so as an experiment I took my bbt just now and it showed 100.43. Then I took my temp with a normal thermometer and it showed 97.4. So I guess there's nothing wrong with me. But I'm super pissed about the bbt!!! This is my third easy@home bbt that's given me problems!! Ugh. I just bought a FOURTH on Amazon because it's the only one that will deliver tomorrow and I'm about to ovulate. My chart is all screwed up now. Should I go back and just subtract 3 degrees or something?

  19. LCTBQE

    nectarine / 2461 posts

@narwhal: I'm sorry, hon. everyone here has felt that disappointment. hang in there, you'll get it again. xxx

@marley: that is *so* weird. hopefully it shouldn't affect your ovulation?? I'd also be totally confused/perturbed with this chart, but it has to happen sooner or later. I like @pwnstar's advice

@Kitkat: I've been wondering how you were doing, lady. sorry to hear the clomid is off to a slow start. I also went to an endocrinologist to get my thyroid checked (family history) after my first m/c... I spent $800 and all I learned was that my metabolism was pitifully slow . Anyway, I hope you get some answers soon. keep us posted

@MrsB2012: woof. I'm sorry, that is a bummer. your LP silver lining is still very good news though, even though it's not a close second

@marley: just saw your recent post! that is fucking annoying. I use this MABIS one that I got on Prime and it has never given me problems at all:

maybe you should give up on easy at home? sounds not worth it. at least you have the pee hormones telling you what's going on and you're okay!

Can I join? I used to be really active on HB a while back but stepped away. I am TTC #2 and just a few days from testing for my first cycle and I missed the community! I'm also tired of symptom spotting by myself. Lol

I have a 22 month old son. We actually TTC for #2 in January of this year, but my body still wasn't adjusted after weaning just one month prior (and having only 1 period after that) and I had a weird, short cycle. Also DS was being assessed for early intervention and we had a lot going on. Between me feeling like my body wasn't ready and that the timing wasn't the best, we shelved it. Now we're ready again!

Hello to everyone! I have a lot of catching up to do!

    Cycle Day: 21 - 6dpo

    TTC Cycle #: 1

Ovulation & POAS date: O'd December 10th. POAS on 12-20. I'll be 10dpo which is when I got my BFP with my first baby. Retest on Christmas Eve if it's negative. I'll be 14dpo.

    Baby #: 2 (22 month old DS)

Your plan this month: Try and find time to BD while my son has decided he hates bed time and sleep in general. :'(

For Fun: What is your favorite winter/holiday tradition?: Decorating the Christmas tree!
