My runner-up title for this thread was *Knockin' (winter) Boots* . . .
Cycle Day: 19
TTC Cycle #: 3
Ovulation & POAS date: Nov 25/26; Dec. 8/9
Baby #: 2
Your plan this month: After an early m/c last month, I am just cautiously optimistic, even though our timing wasn't great.
For Fun: What is your favorite winter/holiday tradition? I don't really have any traditions, but we've started creating several of our own for our LO, like decorating the tree(s) the day after Thanksgiving, pictures with Santa, etc.
nectarine / 2466 posts
I was just going to get a board set up! Thanks for starting one!
Cycle Day: CD 17
TTC Cycle #:2
Ovulation & POAS date: O- should be around CD 20-22, POAS - Dec 17th (DH's bday!)
Baby #:3!
Your plan this month: I just starting temping a few days ago, using OPK's.
For Fun: What is your favorite winter/holiday tradition? Just love spending time with my family! We always have a huge get together with my family. I'm excited to start more traditions with our girls, now that my first is getting more into Xmas.

All right, I'm going to jump in here. We're casually trying for #2 but we're also simultaneously pursuing foster to adopt. Whichever happens first we'll go with, at this point.
Cycle Day: 27
TTC Cycle #: 1
Ovulation & POAS date: Not sure. I have PCOS and my cycles have about 5 weeks. I think I probably ovulated between Friday and Sunday. I'm thinking I'll POAS 12/9.
Baby #: 2
Your plan this month: I need to see when/if AF shows up to figure out what to do next. I never got a true positive on OPKs this month so IDK if the darkest one I had was the closest, or if I was just testing too early.
For Fun: What is your favorite winter/holiday tradition? I love decorating the tree while drinking egg nog :).

I've been debating whether or not to get back into the POAS boards -- I hate feeling like a downer, but I'm also working to be more hopeful and confident, and I could use the support (although I'm *also* trying to not be obsessive, hah). So here I am!
Cycle Day: 15
TTC Cycle #: 7
Ovulation & POAS date: O - Dec. 3 (guessing), POAS - I should try to wait as long as possible but am going to a holiday party Dec. 12 and that would be 9DPO so... we'll see how much self-control I have.
Baby #: 2, my daughter turned two a few weeks ago!
Your plan this month:
I've had two early losses now -- in August and in October -- but was cleared to try again whenever we wanted by my nurse practitioner. I've since had a period after the latest miscarriage so we're actively trying, now. I should be ovulating soon, but have stepped back from temping and OPKs for right now becuase it's too much pressure on my husband. I'm just guessing at O because realistically it has not changed in pretty much the entire time I have charted/tracked.
Was trying to do SMEP but it didn't work out; we did manage to have sex every two days from CD8 on and I'm aiming for every day from CD14-CD17 or CD18, because I usually ovulate CD16/17.
I'm going in for basic health blood work results today with the NP, and a pap, so if there's anything hugely obviously wrong with me it will be addressed. Other than that they won't treat me for recurrent loss until I've had three, so I'm trying to be confident, hopeful, etc.
If this cycle is a bust my next fertile week falls right over New Years so that seems kind of poetic to me!
For Fun: What is your favorite winter/holiday tradition?
I can't freaking wait until we get our Christmas tree. We're out of town this weekend but my BIL is going to try to pick it up for us and leave it at our house so we can decorate on Monday! I pretty much love all of Christmas and am trying really hard to make it joyful this year.

We just started trying for #2... LO #1 is 16 months and is still BFing twice a day (though I don't think I have any supply left to speak of) so I'm not sure how that may affect my fertility. I've had my period back for over a year now and charted the last two cycles, which have become very short, though I still appeared to be ovulating (just super short luteal phase--8/9 days!). This cycle I'm not sure I actually ovulated, but if I did our timing was very good. So fingers crossed!!! I want an August baby so badly (it's my favorite month).
Cycle Day: 24
TTC Cycle #: 1
Ovulation & POAS date: FF says I ovulated 11/23 but I'm not so sure. CB Advanced OPK was peak on 11/21-22 (CD 14/15) but my Wondfo OPK never turned positive (a first for me!) and my temps are all over the map due to awful sleep and then sleep training my 16-month-old. But either way, I will POAS starting 12/3 (which would be 10 DPO based on FF's idea of my O date--I got my BFP for LO at 10 DPO so I test early!)
Baby #: 2 (DD 16 months old)
Your plan this month: I charted, used Wondfo OPK and CB Advanced OPK, and BD every day during fertile window. Just not sure I actually O'd this month. I'm 37 so if this isn't our month I'm going to start acupuncture before next cycle (which I was doing when I got pregnant with LO at age 35).
For Fun: What is your favorite winter/holiday tradition?
I love putting up the Christmas tree, decorating (while drinking eggnog - jinx Shootingstar!), and wrapping presents. In recent years I have started to LOVE receiving all my friends' photo holiday cards and stringing them in a display on our dining room wall--I just feel so much love every time I see all my favorite people's pics on the wall, many of whom live far away. I do NOT love designing and sending our own holiday card (stressful and I always feel behind), but I do love the end result.

@pwnstar:
I'll join.
Cycle Day: 27
TTC Cycle: 24 (ntnp some of that time)
Ovulation and POAS: 11/19 and 12/2
Baby #1
Plan: clomid round 2 If round 1 fails.
For fun: I love opening gifts just my husband and I and a big Christmas breakfast.
I POAS on 12dpo and it was negative so I think I'm out although it was only a two hour hold. I started to think I saw a line but I think I'm crazy. I'm attaching it. Took my last progesterone yesterday so expecting my period on Thursday.
kiwi / 706 posts
I was going to start one yesterday when my temp dropped but it wasn't December yet, so....thanks for starting this @pwnstar!
Cycle Day: 30 (AF should be visiting tomorrow)
TTC Cycle #: 3
Ovulation & POAS date: 12/17 and 12/29
Baby #: 2
Your plan this month: take every appropriate supplement under the sun; continue using CB Digital Advanced; SMEP; temping; try to eat right (difficult during holiday season though...hello cookies!)
For Fun: What is your favorite winter/holiday tradition? before my DD was born, we used to go see the NYC Ballet's Nutcracker production every year. Now that she's 3, we're taking her for the first time this year. We're going to bring her every year. I guess until #2 shows up.
Let's go December! Let's do this!!!!

@mrsjd: Those blue dye tests are notoriously unreliable. Sometimes their evaps or indentation lines have color and it gets really confusing. I'd try an FRER
clementine / 777 posts
@ShootingStar: I know! So crazy. If my period doesn't show on its own by Thursday morning, I'll break down and get a FRER. Two stores I went to this weekend didn't have any.
kiwi / 595 posts
Cycle Day: 22
TTC Cycle #: 7
Ovulation & POAS date: o-11/22, poas 12/5
Baby #:2
Your plan this month: we saw a RE for our first appointment/labs on 11/19 and he was able to tell me when I'd be ovulating. The initial info looks good, and the RE says we are in the "gifted and talented class" for late 30s/early 40s! We started a regime of vitamin D and extra folic acid for me. I *may* have been ovulating a lot earlier than I've thought for the last 6 months, but between weaning my dd, a m/c in June- my cycles have been a little off.
For Fun: What is your favorite winter/holiday tradition? new pjs! Hot chocolate, peppermint everything (except coffee and alcohol, cause ttc!).

I had what was supposed to be my pregnancy confirmation appointment today . . . doc just did an annual exam instead. In addition to the regular tests, I also opted to have my AMH levels tested too. As an older mama, I want to know (to the extent possible) if my ovarian reserve is typical for my age, or lower/higher than what is typical. Bright side: it's a new practice (for me), and I really liked everyone I met. On the not so bright side, it made me a little sad . . . so thank goodness I found the left over Reese's Pieces (from the movies last week) in my bag while I was in the waiting room.
kiwi / 706 posts
@pwnstar: what a coincidence. I felt sad that AF was coming and bought a giant bag of M&Ms.
good luck on the test results. I want the same AMH levels done, but my doctor is making me wait 6 months of BFNs.
kiwi / 595 posts
@pwnstar: if I don't get the bfp this month, I'm scheduled to have my AMH levels tested and I'm preemptively booked for a HSG. It certainly can't hurt to be proactive with the tests, even if I wasn't proactively making babies when I was younger!
And yay for Reese's pieces!

@stratosphere: welcome! With your temps, even though they are all over the place, did you still see a shift in temps post O? Maybe you had a short surge and just missed seeing it on an OPK?
@mrsjd: I'm not sure if I can see anything, but with a blue dye test I wouldn't trust a squinter anyways. I can't believe 2 stores didn't have FRER's! Good luck over the next few days!
@marley: How much of a temp drop have you had? I usually get AF the day of a big drop, might still have some hope! The nutcracker would be amazing to see!
@pwnstar: Sorry about the appt It's good you liked the new practice though!
@marley: I also bought a big bag of M&M's today haha. The peanut ones mmmmm
kiwi / 706 posts
@MrsB2012: it's been dropping the past 3 days. Yesterday was the big plummet below my coverline. Today is about the same. AF is definitely coming. I feel it. Last month my temps dropped for 2 days before she came. It is impossible to stop eating these...I also bought skittles. Not a great start to my cycle....
pear / 1718 posts
@marley: Did your doc say why? That seems like a long time to wait (6 months from now)? My doc offered because I am AMA. You're probably (at least) a wee bit younger, so maybe that's the reason your doc is not in a rush? Not that that makes it suck any less. For now, from my Reese's Pieces to your M&Ms, *cheers!*
kiwi / 706 posts
@pwnstar: 6 months 3 months ago, so 3 more months. I'm 37, so I'm AMA too! Cheers! Red and Green M&Ms are tasty!

@OldpuebloJenn: New holiday jammies are also a tradition we are starting for LO. I don't remember getting them as a kid, but I did when I was older (college age maybe?). I'm excited for LO to wear hers!

Cycle Day: 6
TTC Cycle #: 4
Ovulation & POAS date: TBD...started clomid this cycle, so hopefully ovulating between 12/7 and 12/12. POAS 12/21-12/26?
Baby #: 1
Your plan this month: Clomid, temping, OPKs and lots of BDing
For Fun: What is your favorite winter/holiday tradition? Hmm...decorating for Christmas or skiing/going up to the snow
Good luck everyone!

I'm not sure if I"m out yet for this month, spotting a few minutes ago... I'll know tomorrow!
Cycle Day: 25
TTC Cycle #: 2
Ovulation & POAS date: ( I think it was Nov 23rd.) Poas should be tomorrow.... but since I'm spotting and I have no sticks I'm going to wait it out a few days)
Baby #: 2
Your plan this month: If no luck this week, try again! Better temping. If not pregnant right now (not really feeling pregnant-sore boobs only), then I should proabably O again around the 14th, and a second test on the 27thish.
For Fun: What is your favorite winter/holiday tradition? We each get to put one ornament up each day leading up to the day we put up the Christmas tree.

Hi All! Thanks for starting this group.
@PWNStar &LCTBQE @ I'm so sorry to hear about your MC.
Cycle Day: 20
TTC Cycle #: 6
Ovulation & POAS date: November 25th, December 7th.
Baby #: 1!
Your plan this month: This month we tried pre-seed, OPKs, I used a soft cup after BDing, and we waited to BD until we got the smiley face to make sure we got as many swimmers as we could in the right place at the right time. This is our last cycle before seeking more answers. My doctor wants to see us only after 6 months of TTC instead of 12, which makes me happy.
For Fun: What is your favorite winter/holiday tradition? We love to cross country ski! I'm looking forward to those peaceful gorgeous snowy adventures...

Cycle Day: 1
TTC Cycle #: 2 officially "trying" several months of NTNP
Ovulation & POAS date: o - 12/19, POAS - 12/31 before I go have New Years drinks!!!
Baby #: 2
Your plan this month: do it everyday in the week before and during ovulation.
For Fun: What is your favorite winter/holiday tradition? Don't have any!

@MrsB2012: thanks! I guess I kind of saw a temp surge after what may have been O, and I was hoping that I just missed my LH surge with the Wondfo but I've never had a super short LH surge like that. As you can see from my chart, it's pretty hard to see a clear rise. Terrible toddler sleep issues and multi-timezone business travel both played a role in this messy chart!
My last three cycles have all been 25 days, so I will feel fortunate if I can get them back to 28 or so days even if I'm not pregnant. My doctor did tell me that if I didn't get pregnant in the first few cycles I should go ahead and wean LO fully.

Can't wait to join in again this month! I will do the roll call as soon as my period shows up - it's due today so hoping it comes today because if so I would poas the 25th and that could make for a really fun day if we got lucky.

@coopsmama: hi! mine just showed up. We can be cycle buddies! I put down 29th as my POAS date but I might do it on Christmas Day for fun!
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
^That's well within the 5 minute window. I'm freaking out because I've taken DayQuil the past two nights since I had total negatives (not even squinters) when I tested (the last time I tested would've been 11dpo) before now.
pomelo / 5660 posts
@coopsmama: I drank alcohol (several beers) before I found out I was pregnant (and I was 5 weeks when I found out I was pregnant) and the baby is fine. I wouldn't worry.
pear / 1718 posts
@coopsmama: Congratulations! Don't panic! Your LO is going to be fine . . . it's still so, so early, and from what I've read, the active ingredients in DayQuil are safe for pregnant women: acetaminophen [generic Tylenol], dextromethorphan [which is also in Robitussin], and doxylamine succinate [also in Unisom, which is sometimes prescribed during pregnancy].
Etr: NyQuil . . .because I fail at reading!
kiwi / 706 posts
@coopsmama: haha spoke too soon! CONGRATS!!!!! Don't worry about the DayQuil. I went to about 5 happy hours before I found out about DD.
