And I did get my positive OPK this morning so we're going to get busy right up until our flight to Australia on Friday We even thought about where we could make it happen at LAX during our layover... totally serious! (No really, if I find a single occupancy bathroom I am dragging DH into it..) LOL

@YogiRunner: haha! Look for a family bathroom! That will at least be a little bit private!

It's darker this morning! Yay now it feels more real. Last night I was wondering if I was crazy!

@travellingbee: YAY!!! I was hoping to see this update for you this morning!

@travellingbee: OMG!! That's so wonderful! Congratulations!! I am just overjoyed for you! Stick, bean, stick!!
@YogiRunner: Hooray for cooperatively timed O! Have fun!
@NorthStar: @travellingbee: @Bea: Thank you so much for the HSG info! It was pretty painless for me, though I have some mild cramping now. But the leaking is just awkward feeling!
The nurse practitioner who did the HSG said that everything looked perfect - she showed me the pictures, and everything flowed as it should have. So, now we just need the repeat SA with wash (week of the 29th) and the repeat day 3 blood work (with ultrasound this time to check follicles) and we'll meet with the RE again to make a plan!
I'm CD 11 today, so I should O sometime next week. I'll start using OPKs today / tomorrow. I keep forgetting to temp in the morning, but if I can remember tomorrow I can at least keep an eye on my temps during the tww!

@ballerinabee: That's great! I'm glad that it was pretty easy for you too. I hope you have the same kind of luck that I did! A BFP both cycles after the HSG! I don't know if it was that, or the acupuncture that I started, but one of them seems to have done the trick!
pear / 1881 posts
@ballerinabee: That's awesome!! Good luck in the next few weeks and I hope the HSG does the trick with getting a BFP!

@travellingbee: @NorthStar: Thanks ladies! I say I won't get my hopes up, but we all know I will.
What's everyone doing this weekend? @YogiRunner: I know you're traveling Down Under (hope you can find a clean single bathroom! Tee hee), but what about everyone else?
pear / 1955 posts
@ballerinabee: Our holiday plans include travelling to Pennsylvania to stay with my parents for the next week and a half - 8 adults and 3 little boys under one roof with only one bathroom. I think we've drawn the short straw and get the blow-up mattress under the pool table this year.
Unfortunately though, it looks like I might O while we're there, so this cycle may just be a wash - here's hoping I O later than usual so we can BD in the privacy of our own home.

Unfortunately for me I woke up with AF yesterday morning. Onto cycle 17 and starting my first cycle of Clomid tomorrow....anyone have experience with Clomid???
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@Bea: oh no I'm so sorry. I don't have any experience with Clomid as they decided that my FSH was too high for Clomid to work. I know many people though IRL who've had lots of success with it.

@ballerinabee: This weekend, my niece is being baptized and I'm the godmother. Other than that, just finalizing Christmas stuff and packing for our trip. Christmas Day we leave to go to Ruidoso, New Mexico. It's a ski area.

@ballerinabee: Congrats on the A+ HSG! Nothing too much going on this weekend, just relaxing and binge watching Parenthood haha
@Bea: I'm so sorry

@ballerinabee: So happy to hear about your HSG! Mine will be at the beginning of January, so it'll be here in no time. We will be going the In Vitro route after that and I am just ready to get this show on the road!
@travellingbee: Holy moly, yes! I am so excited for you, especially to be able to celebrate this the month after your chemical. Sending lots of sticky dust for that little bean!

@Bea: Hugs! As for Clomid, my worst experience was hot flashes....and boy were they awful! 100% worth it since I actually ovulated on it, which I wasn't before. But sometimes it was embarassing because I could be hanging out with friends and I would have to strip down to my tank top just to cool off...ugh! If you are successful on 50 mg, maybe the side effects won't be as bad, but 50mg didn't make me O so I had to up the dose.
Good luck to you!

@ballerinabee: We're having a Christmas party in our hometown today with my Dad's side of the family! My aunt got into town last night, so the party has already started for us! Tomorrow, I need to finish DH's present and wrap ALL of our gifts. I like to procrastinate...

So a quick follow-up - I still haven't gotten AF, even after taking the 10-day Provera course. I talked to my doctor today, who said she thinks maybe my lining was so thin that I just didn't bleed? She's going to do an ultrasound when I'm back from visiting relatives for the holidays, but I guess it's safe to assume I'm out for this month.
Trying really hard to not feel down about this right before the holidays sooo... on the positive side: 1) I won't have to sneak in BDing while sleeping with DH on a blow-up mattress in my parents' living room; 2) my doctor is being super proactive about everything, which makes me feel like I'm in good hands; 3) no reason not to partake in eggnog and plenty of wine for the holidays.
Hope you ladies all have a good end to the year - I'll probably check in sporadically, but won't be back around for good until January.

Hey ladies...just wanted to pop in and say hello, hoping everyone has a great holiday and sending lots of baby dust your way!!
nectarine / 2192 posts
AF is due today, and I was hoping to POAS tomorrow for a Christmas miracle. Temp dropped 0.4 degrees, just below the coverline. 99.9% sure I'm out. If I get pregnant this next cycle, I won't be able to go to an amazing conference I won the opportunity to go to. I think the plan is to take really good care of myself, not temp, try to live "normally" and focus on the new house and how we want to renovate it. We close in 5 days- eek!
Here's my positive list:
I would have been very pregnant in summer heat.
Baby wouldn't be able to get the flu shot.
I wouldn't have to choose between the conference and going a few weeks postpartum.
I can lose a little weight before getting pregnant.

@AmeliaBedilia: love the positive spin, friend. Merry Christmas, congrats on closing soon, & here's to conceiving in your dream home soon!!

For those ladies in this group...would you use a wondfo to test or a CB Digi EPT?
nectarine / 2465 posts
@babycanuck: I think the digital tests are less sensitive, so I would use a Wondfo first and then confirm with the digi.
pomegranate / 3105 posts
@MrsKRB: Really?? Ok. I've been using wondfos, I don't know why I thought the CB ones were more sensitive, especially since they're so damn expensive.

12 DPO, still no sign of AF and still BFNs. Didn't temp this morning because I woke up a million times during the night.
nectarine / 2465 posts
BFN today, AF is due tomorrow. Definitely going to schedule an HSG/blood work in the AM while we wait for DHs urology appointment.
pomegranate / 3105 posts
So...looks like not being able to sleep this week was a symptom? and my only one? BFP on 2 digi CB and 2 FRER...doctor's appointment tomorrow to confirm by blood and RE opens again next week, need to see them right away. Still in a bit of shock/denial - DH didn't react the way I thought he would - he's happy but didn't show a lot of excitement as I cried LOL
persimmon / 1259 posts
CD 1 here...I don't know why I was even holding on to one shred of hope for this cycle. No medication, no IUI, no nothing...just waiting for the cycle to run it's course so I could schedule my HSG. And yet...AF's arrival comes with a heavy heart. DH is trying to convince me to be patient, that we have a plan, etc. etc....but darn it, it hurts!
On the plus side, I can call my RE when they open at 9 and schedule my HSG for either this Friday or next (they only do it on Fridays) and then, at that appt. it'll be time to discuss what needs to be done to move forward with IVF. Ahh!!! I'm just going to have some wine tonight and remind myself that a few more months isn't that long in the grand scheme of things. We'll have a plan in place before we hit the 2-year mark in March and that will hopefully ease the pain of that dreaded anniversary.
