@ballerinabee: Awww, boo. Sorry to hear that - hope you and your RE can work together and get a good plan in place.

@raspberries: It was something that was suggested by a few people I talked to who had taken it. But I feel like my doctor must have said something, I just don't remember. She speeds through things a lot of the time.

I read up on the "PCOS diet" but I just knew it wasn't realistic for me. But when I first started metformin I limited myself to one starchy/white carb a day (either pasta or bread with either lunch or dinner...not both with both...which I could totally do!) and I dropped 10-15 lbs that first year (and have kept it off even though I'm not "dieting")

I am officially out. And perfect timing. I'm getting an allergy test in a week so I can't take any advil for a week. I would seriously pay for the ability to go home early and take a nap! (but my stupid paper and final presentation are tonight)

I'm confused though. I was on Progesterone this month, and am still taking it. But my temp dropped around Saturday and I started spotting then. Can you become resistant to it? Last month I had no spotting until after I stopped it.

Hello my friends! I posted a little update on the IF check-in page, but I figured I'd post one here too. I had my first RE appt yesterday and I am suddenly feeling re-energized about TTC. I mean, I think that the process has been taken out of our hands and completely handed to my RE. She was wonderful, she spent at least 30 minutes with me and didn't make me feel like she was rushing to the next patient and was very descriptive and helpful. Her nurse was wonderful too. We have a choice as to what we'd like to pursue next. We can either try the oral meds + injectables + monitored IUI cycles or she is open to jumping straight to IVF, should that be what we choose. We are praying about this decision and in the meantime, I will be doing the HSG next cycle. If it turns out my tubes are blocked, then the decision is easy and IVF it is. I'm kind of leaning that direction anyway, because we'll hit the two year mark in March and I honestly don't know how I would handle it if we weren't KU yet and still waiting and waiting to see if the IUIs worked. But we'll see.

In other news, I am about to O, unmedicated! That's crazy exciting and makes me think that acupuncture and metformin are bringing my cycles back to a more regular schedule. It's been nice to have a break from the hot flashes the Clomid gives me, haha! No positive OPK yet, but my wondfo was getting darker this morning, and I have some of the physical symptoms, yay!

Also, I'm getting excited for the holidays now. I'm ready for family time and some time off of work.

I hope all of you are well today, you are, as always, on my heart.

@sarahnicole218: you sound so happy! I'm glad that your RE is so helpful, I will pray for good news for you!

@sarahnicole218: perhaps even the HSG will give you a little bump in fertility as well! I learned that I had tubal issues during my HSG, but ended up getting pregnant on the 2nd cycle after my HSG when we were getting ready to start a medicated cycle for a round or 2 of IUI, but expecting to need to jump to IVF!

I often peek in on the 6+ mo board & am always keeping my fingers crossed for you ladies.

I'm curious on what are the chances on getting KU the month you do hsg...

  18. ballerinabee

@raspberries: @Bea: @travellingbee: @MrsKRB: Thank you all for letting me vent, and for your well wishes.

We're meeting with the fertility specialists on 12/17 (next Weds), so we'll see what they have to offer.

Mom's surgery was more complicated than expected, but went well. The surgeon was exhausted (12 hours!), but pleased. Mom is in a lot of pain (expected), but is doing well so far. She'll probably be in the hospital through the holidays, which is lousy, but we'll do whatever it takes to get her well!

@MaryM: I'm sorry I don't know anything about progesterone, but I hope your dr has some answers.

@sarahnicole218: your positive attitude is wonderful, and contagious! Hooray for spontaneous O, and for some good options going forward. Hoping hard for you!

@babycanuck: I'm not sure what the % are, but I do know that there have been several ladies on here who have posted about getting KU right after an HSG. Flushes the pipes to optimal settings, if you will...

It has been a crazy, stressful week. Lots of little things, and there was talk of closing on our new house/farm today. I was excited because I will probably O today and I love the idea of the first time BD in the new house possibly conceiving a baby. But it was moved to next week, which is fine. The owner already gave us the keys, but it doesn't feel quite right.

I found out that the last of our married friends without kids are expecting a baby in the spring. That day DH was supposed to be out of town and we met in the middle (extra drive) to BD, and DH got sick. So we missed Tuesday and Wednesday. We did get Thursday AM in, so there is still hope. It is SO FRUSTRATING to do all these things and then timing isn't good. We will try to get tonight in, and there goes the week of planned daily BD to 1, maybe 2 times. AF is due around Christmas, and we will be visiting FIL, so we will see.

    nectarine / 2465 posts

@babycanuck: I feel like everyone I see get a HSG, gets KU right after!

@ballerinabee: Good luck next Wednesday, and glad your mom is doing well!

@AmeliaBedilia: Congrats on the house! Good luck this cycle

AFM, I am only CD12 and I took a Clear Blue Advanced OPK this morning and it was a solid smiley, the past couple of days it has been completely negative. So of course I'm freaking out that there is something wrong with my cycle! We did bd this morning, but I didn't take care to make sure everything 'stayed in' if you know what I mean. Boo.

@AmeliaBedilia: Oh honey, I totally understand doing all of these things and having bad timing. You still have a chance, but the terrible timing seems to be our thing ALL the time. That's why the IUIs were such a relief for us, took the pressure off. But ugh, it still sucks. I, too, am about to O, and so far, the BD has taken the back burner to many other things. Here's to hoping for tonight!

I'm doing good and just waiting to see whether AF will show or if I'll get a BFP. I did test yesterday at 12DPO, but BFN. I'm just hoping it is too early yet. I ovulated 1-2 days earlier than I ever do and because of that, I'm not sure when to expect AF. Fertility Friend says today with a cycle length of 27, but that is short for me. Last month was 30 days and the one prior was 29. I have no idea! I feel mild cramping, but also have weird cottonmouth type feeling, so I don't know what to think. I'll either test again tomorrow or Wednesday morning. I only have one FRER left and don't want to waste it! although, I do have a ton of wondfo's that I could use..

@NorthStar: What did you test with yesterday? A wondfo? They are sometimes less sensitive, right? Lots of luck to you!

  36. NorthStar

    pear / 1881 posts

I tested with a FRER, but no hint of a line I'm a little crampy this afternoon, so not sure if AF is coming or it's pregnancy cramps. I'm going to try to hold out until Wednesday to test again, but will see how I feel in the morning..

Need some advice ladies! The opk I took on Friday was a false positive ( I had a feeling, it was old and it was really early in my cycle). I got a real positive tonight, however we bd'd last night. Since dh has a low sperm count, should we go for it tonight or cross our fingers and bd tomorrow morning? My surge is short, so I am 99% sure I will O tomorrow.

@NorthStar: Sorry Still holding out hope for you!

@MrsKRB: that's a tough one!!! What's your gut tell you?

  40. travellingbee

    hostess / papaya / 10219 posts

@MrsKRB: hmmm with low sperm count I'd try tomorrow rather than today. You'll give him time to replenish and still catch the egg if you ovulate tomorrow. I have a short surge too and always O the next day.
