@MrsKRB: can you check with a different doctor? The first doctor I called to see for an RE. Couldn't get me in for months and I got in the next week with an even better doctor!

@travellingbee: that's wonderful news!!! Have a fun next few days
@bea: here's the pie recipe: http://www.rachaelrayshow.com/food/recipes/19170_grant_s_pumpkin_pecan_pie/
Use a bigger pie crust than the small ones they sell in the store, if you make it. We used the pre-made graham cracker pie crust and it was too small. The pie filling way overflowed. It was still delicious though!!

@Bea: Wish I could give you ideas, but I'm a Betty Crocker pre-made mix type of gal when it comes to baking. My favorite holiday snacks are carrot cake (there's just something cold weather-y about a spice cake!) and fudge. Yum!
@MrsKRB: I second a second-opinion, ha. Are there any other urologists you can get in to see? Other hospitals, further away, anything like that?

I think I'm in the wrong group, anyway here goes lol.
Cycle no / TTC: 4
CD: 22
POAS: 15/12/2014 (but already tested at 5dpo pmsl)
Backstory: I have always been on bc since being 14 due to heavy painful periods (I'm now 32) I only came off to conceive my 2 Boy's now (3) (5). It took me 11 cycles to conceive my 1st and 1 cycle to conceive my 2nd both sections and apparently my adhesions are wrapped around my tubes, so fingers crossed somehow I can still conceive.
Plan for this cycle: eat healthier, cut out drinking alcohol, I've already stopped smoking.
How do celebrate the holiday season: Meet DH family on Christmas morning then all go to the local pub to meet more family and friends then back to my Mum and dad's for Christmas dinner.
Who do you most struggle to buy a gift for: Men in general, they always end up with either socks, underpants, aftershave or alcohol lol. XxX

@travellingbee: @raspberries: duh, why didn't I think of that? He was the only doctor my ob had referred us to, I will see if we can have our choice. Thanks

Only 8dpo here, but SO impatient. Used a wondfo from a known bad batch (expired 11/2014, I don't have the lot # handy, but they're apparently crappy) and got a BFN.
Since I was not expecting it to work, but it satisfied my impatient need to POAS, I wasn't terribly disappointed. A girl can always hope, but I knew there was almost zero chance of it showing anything.
I had a squinter at 8dpo on a wondfo with C, so I thought it was worth a shot. Ha.

@Bea:
So glad your HSG went well! Maybe this is your cycle! I ovulated two days after my HSG and got my bfp 11 days after that!
Also, for recipes for sweet treats the website addapinch.com is amazing. I've made her pecan pie bars in the past and they are scrumptious. Also Paula Deen (who I usually am not a fan of) has a great fudge pie recipe that is a staple of my family holidays (I'm from the South if you can't tell). Also, the easiest treat in the world is to use storebought cake mix for cake or cupcakes and just make your own icing. The icing is what makes the biggest difference in my opinion.
I'm cheering all you ladies on! I hope you all get your bfps soon. I'm trying to stay positive about my little bean and not worry about all the things that can go wrong. We have a schedule appointment at about 8 weeks - on New Year's Eve! We haven't told anyone, just my husband and I, and you ladies!

Feeling odd, I'm 7 dpo and feel pregnant, I woke up through the night with acid/ sick in my mouth it was so sweet! This happened to me with my 1st and 2nd pregnancy but from the 2nd trimester. I tested with a cheapo test (only to be used on the day of missed period and I'm 8 days away) it was negative which I knew would happen but I can't help testing lol.
Is it possible to get symptoms this early and have negative Test?

@phebeecat: This board is for 6+ months of TTC. The other TTC board is a great board too! http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/a-season-of-miracles-december-2014-poas
Rooting for you!! Hope you get you BFP in the next couple cycles and that you don't end up making it to this board!

@MrsKRB: please keep us updated!
@ballerinabee: how's it going? still POASing? lol no judgement here! Always worth a shot. A user named Septca used to have a "POAS early and often" motto and that was definitely me!
@Ashleyf21: @marym: checking in on y'all!! How are you doing?

Finally a positive OPK at 11am. We BD two nights ago, last night and we'll get to it tonight too. Even though we're still ttc, for whatever reason this us the first month in a long time that it hadn't felt like a chore. In fact, last night we went to a holiday party and boozed a bit and had lots of fun trying. so even if this month doesn't work, I am still feeling better. Less frustrated...

@Bea: BFN yesterday. I think I'll wait a few more days before testing again (if I do).
Yesterday was 10 dpo. I'm on progesterone but I still started spotting, so I have no idea what my body is doing. And I was hella moody. I don't know if my body is fighting the P or what.
So I "celebrated" with some whiskey sours at a christmas party last night.

We have a little while until a POAS date....SOOOO what's your favorite holiday movie?
apricot / 452 posts
@Bea: Of course I POAS on Saturday (9dpo, wondfo from the bad batch, expected BFN), and then yesterday (10dpo, bad wondfo BFN, but also used a FRER and totally expected a positive based on symptoms and was heartbroken to get a ).
In my heart I know I'm probably going to roll over again, but I still have such strong symptoms. I had strong positives on wondfo, FRER and digi at 9dpo with C, so I can't help but think that at 10dpo if I got a negative, I'm really not pregnant.
I don't know when I'll test again. AF isn't due until Weds, so DH doesn't want me to test until at least Friday so that I stop disappointing myself.
But, my mom is having a potentially life threatening surgery on Weds, so I may test that morning just in case it's positive, so I can tell her before surgery. Then again, I'm already going to be really anxious that day, so I'm not sure that adding more disappointment / hurt is a good idea. Yeah, I have no idea what I'm going to do.

Favorite holiday movie:
Santa Clause: The Movie, with Dudley Moore and John Lithgow
My brothers and I watched it every year until we didn't live in the same house. We should watch it again this year with all of our spouses!

@ballerinabee: It's so disheartening how our bodies/minds can trick us. I certainly hope yours is not and that your get your BFP this cycle! Sorry to hear about your mom! If you don't mind, I would love to pray for her, you, and your family.
I don't think I have ever seen Santa Clause: The Movie! I need to check it out
@MrsKRB: Love those! Elf, It's a Wonderful Life, and Christmas Vacation are a must for us.
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@ballerinabee: Last cycle I got a BFN on 10dpo but then a bfp at 13dpo so it is totally still possible. It ended up being a chemical but that is irrelevant. I just implated later.
ETA: favorite Christmas movies: Holiday Inn (I love old movies) and Love Actually

@MrsKRB: @Bea: @travellingbee: Thanks, ladies! I appreciate the encouraging words. Some days are tougher than others to keep your chin up, so extra thanks! And thank you for the kind words about mom. We welcome and appreciate all good thoughts / vibes / prayers / love!
@travellingbee: I'm so glad you & your DH got to have some fun BD. It's tough when you've been trying for so long and it feels like a chore / is stressful. Hooray for a little boozy BD!! That's what got me KU the first time, boozy vacation BD...

So....I'm trying to be super cautious about things and not get my hopes up for this month now that we are back to TTC. We are at the two year mark. No OPKs, just DTD ED or EOD whenever we can for the next two weeks.
@Bea: Can you please add me in for December 28? I don't know if I should be doing this but I'm going to take a chance.

So please know that I just read through every single post and I am rooting for and praying for all of you. It is impossible to reply to each person on my phone, but you are all on my heart.
Cycle number/months TTC: 21 months
CD: 11
POAS date (if any): no idea yet, no clomid this cycle, so I doubt I'll ovulate any time soon. I'll start testing tomorrow morning though, just to be safe.
Backstory: it's a long one, and a lot of you know it. But I have polycystic ovaries, have had two failed IUIs, had five cycles of clomid, hormones are normal but have been on Metformin since May, DH's SA was great, so I've got some unexplained infertility. I finally have my first RE appt this coming Thursday!
Plan for this cycle: still doing acupuncture and we'll see what the RE says this week, otherwise, nothing planned for this cycle.
How do you celebrate the holiday season?: By spending lots of time with family!
Who do you most struggle to find a gift for?: My FIL and BIL.

@sarahnicole218: good luck this cycle! And good luck at the RE!
@babycanuck: good luck

Looks like my BFP wasn't a BFP after all, because I think I had a chemical pregnancy. I started spotting yesterday and bled last night pretty heavily. I took two digital tests and they said "Not Pregnant." After 11 months of trying, it is pretty devastating. Not sure where to go from here.
nectarine / 2465 posts
@mrsjd: oh no, I am so so sorry it's even more of a blow when you have been trying for so long. Have you spoke to your Obgyn on what to do next?
clementine / 777 posts
@MrsKRB: I placed a call this morning. She's in clinicals this morning (it's a teaching hospital) and will call me back. I spoke with a nurse who asked if I wanted a blood test to confirm. I declined. Given the heavy bleeding (heavier than normal for me, not concerning) I am pretty sure I don't need confirmation. The original plan this cycle was to see if I got pregnant and if I did not, to start Clomid next cycle. We might go that route. Not sure yet what I want to do.

@babycanuck: Here's hoping!
@sarahnicole218: Woohoo for seeing an RE - crossing my fingers you get some answers.
@mrsjd: So sorry to hear that.
It looks like I won't be POASing in December - I'm on cycle day 71, and finished a 10-day progesterone course on Saturday, so I'm just waiting for AF now. I started Metformin on Sunday too, so hopefully that will help once we can actually start TTC again.
Also, @sarahnicole218, did you have any side effects from the Metformin? I've had an upset stomach on and off since I've started, and I'm supposed to double and triple my dose at the end of this week and next week, and I'm worried it's gonna be really awful.
persimmon / 1259 posts
@raspberries: 100% disclosure...I had a terribly upset stomach and diarrhea for the first month. I, too, had to up my dose each week until I was at 3 pills a day. I did not up my dose until my body had adjusted to the dose I was on. I did lose like ten pounds, haha, so I was OK with that side effect But there is a light at the end of the tunnel...I really did not have issues after the first month, unless I missed a dose.
Good luck!
pomelo / 5129 posts
@raspberries: I second Sarah. I've worked up to 2,000mg and it wasn't terribly awful until I hit 2K (and even then was super bad)
I mostly lost my appetite. And I cut out most carbs when I started and I think that helped. Now I only suffer if I have a super carby day.
kiwi / 578 posts
@sarahnicole218: Good luck!!!
@mrsjd: I am so sorry to heart this. Praying for you.
@raspberries: Hoping the side effects don't get too bad for you.

@mrsjd: I am so sorry. CP are so cruel. <hugs>
I'm out officially. AF just showed up. I had really convinved myself I was pg (must have been psychosomatic "symptoms"), and had really hoped to surprise mom tomorrow with wonderful news before her surgery & give DH the news as an anniversary present on Thurs. I'm not sure what's next for me either. I guess I'll schedule an appt with an RE (we've already had testing done, so now it's time to start interventions).
pear / 1955 posts
@sarahnicole218: @MaryM: Thanks, ladies. Guess I better get used to some stomach discomfort. Did you both cut back on drinking as well? My doctor told me it wasn't a huge issue, but I've read online that you shouldn't consume a lot of alcohol. Which wouldn't normally be the problem, but there will be wine and eggnog everywhere for Christmas and News Years. Sarah, I'd also be okay with a side effect of 10lbs weight loss, ha! But I'm glad you got used to it after a month or so. Mary, did your doc tell you to limit carbs or were you doing that on your own? That's definitely something to consider... I could probably have noodles in one form or another every day for the rest of my life.
