DH is going to be asking within an hour or two which paint he should pick up on the way home. We have company coming over tomorrow night and this is our only main floor bathroom so a decision has to be made and I'm so torn!
The lighter color is BM Pale Oak and the darker one is Ralph Lauren Forde Abbey. The first two photos are with the artificial light last night, while the bottom are in the natural light provided by the one window.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: You recommended that one in the other thread, yes? I sent DH out for samples after a meltdown last night at 8:30 pm (bless his heart) and I really do like it!!

I like the lighter! It seems like a small bathroom, plus the textured walls are only emphasized by the darker paint color.

I prefer the darker one, especially since there is good natural light in there.

@Shutterbug: I hate the textured walls. So so much. They are ALL over the house and the ceilings are the exact same way.

@coopsmama: yep, sure did. Our living areas all connect (kitchen, dining, family and living room) and have textured walls. Sometimes I just pause and pat myself on the back for picking it. We went from gold/brown (original color that came with the house) to a BM yellow beige and finally Pale Oak.

IMO the lighter color is sort of blah, which would be good if you plan to have a colorful shower curtain/towels/accessories. The darker color pops, so you could keep the accessories white and go for the "spa-like" vibe. Personally, I'd go for the darker shade.

@coopsmama: Darker, for sure! Before we bought this place we lived in a 1950's bungalow with the same exact textured walls. I kind of hated them, but they looked much better with richer colors. I painted our a bedroom a greyish white (similar, but slightly lighter than your first option), and I absolutely hated it the whole time we were there... it looked cheap!

Forde Abbey with the slight upper hand. I'm drawn to white accessories so as @PurplePeony: mentioned that is probably a safe bet.

I like the darker color, but if light is an issue in that bathroom maybe just one wall with it, or like you mentioned, lots of white accessories, etc to brighten it up. Fun stuff!!

@coopsmama: We have textured walls too and I find shinier paint really highlights it. We did an almost flat paint (except bathrooms) and I feel like it hides the texture better. What color did you end up picking?

@HLK208: @mrskc: We went with the Forde Abbey - the darker color - because I decided I wanted to be able to play with neutral accessories and white towels/rugs. And probably just get an extra long white shower curtain to hang at ceiling level.
That said I do really like the pale oak and may do that in the kitchen -- will see how it looks with the cabinets and granite.
I'll post a picture of our finished bathroom at the end of the night.
@mrskc: I'm wondering if that's why the previous owners did flat paint everywhere! I like the look of the flat but not the maintenance. That is one of the main reasons we are repainting the kitchen. The previous owners had left oil splotches in the pain I've never been able to get out. I will likely still do a flat paint in the living rooms and dining room.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I am 99% sure we will be going with Pale Oak for our bedroom, by the way. We are hoping to retrim (and maybe do crown molding) for the entirety of our main floor so around the window should be able to happen!

darker is better, good choice! I think lighter colours often don't even look like you've painted.
