We are TTC and I will most likely ovulate tomorrow. I am also scheduled for a dentist appt tomorrow and I know they will do x-rays. I will ask the dentist if it's safe, but just curious if anyone has gone to the dentist in the TWW and had x-rays. Or any dental bees who can weigh in?

I think you'll be just fine. The egg is no more exposed to radiation in your uterus than it is in your ovaries, I don't think. And the odds of the egg being fertilized and negatively affected on the day you're ovulating are pretty slim. Don't they also cover you up with something when they do dental X-rays?
Someone else might be able to weigh in better, but I really think you'll be okay.

first, let them know you are possibly expecting asap. X-rays can be done while pregnant under certain situations. More Dentist usually won't do them. Unless you are in severe pain and it is an emergency. Digital X-rays are safer. All X-ray machines are designed to produce a very limited amount of radiation. The radiation is used only on the teeth being radiographed. But there is something called scatter radiation. This is why it's safest to just not get the x-rays during pregnancy or if there's a chance you are pregnant. You should be presented with the options and aloud to refuse. -
@MamaPhoenix: Thanks for the info! I didn't know about scatter radiation. Does that apply even if I'm not actually pregnant yet? It seems like there's no chance any implantation could have taken place by tomorrow afternoon if I'm not due to ovulate til tomorrow.

@SeptMomma12: I think that you will be safe. Still tell your dentist/ assistant about your ttc. We do our best to prevent scatter radiation, but it is still a chance most Dentist don't take if you are pregnant. Just ovulating shouldn't be an issue, they will cover those areas with a lead apron.
