I think I'm going to bring deviled eggs to a dinner tomorrow night as an appetizer but I can't decide how to make them, too many choices on the internets. Does anyone have a knockout deviled egg recipe they can share?

I love making bacon cheddar deviled eggs. Make them as normal, with mayo, mustard, and the yolk, but add in shredded cheddar cheese to the mix and top with a bit of crispy bacon! Sooo good

I don't think I've ever made a deviled egg I didn't like! My friend made some with truffle oil and they were divine. I think a lot is in the presentation. I did some once with very finely chopped up bacon and scallions on top (just a few bits of each) and they were a hit!

oh another alternative to scallions is to top with a long thin piece of chive, or two criss-crossed in an X. really elegant and delicious too!

I once had some made with garden vegetable cream cheese. Yummmmm-o! But I don't know the recipe... :((

@mrs. wagon: I was thinking about doing the chive sprig thing, but then I realised who my audience was (my immediate family and my dad's brother and his two boys) and realised that effort would be for nothing. They would eat turds if I told them it was food :S

@prettylizy: if you wanna go that route, you could pipe in the filling with a broad piping tip (or just a cut a corner off of a plastic baggie and pipe through that). It looks like poop when you coil in the filling into the egg.
Haha.

@autumnlove: yes, I do!!
I make a pretty basic deviled egg. I mix the yolk with mayo and mustard until it's nice and creamy. Then I mix in some dill. I put it back into the egg and garnish with paprika.

I make mine with avocado (they are bright green!) and a little crumbled bacon on top. Damn, they're amazing
