Is allergic to disposable diapers. I am a SAHM and I use cloth diapers, but there are times when I need to use child care that does not allow cloth diapers. I don't want my son to get a rash, but I wasn't sure that there were any disposables that wouldn't break him out. So far we have used Huggies, luvs, and pampers. He has gotten a rash every time.
Anyone have a similar problem?

How old is your LO? Is he close to potty training age? I have a few training pants suggestions if he is.

Have you tried Honest? They are sold online are supposed to have significantly less chemicals...I think they will send you a trial pack. You can subscribe to get a months worth of diapers for $70 a month I think.

@brownie: he just turned too, I have started potty training, but our recent move has set us back. He is larger than the average 2 year old. Do you have any suggestions for 5t plus?

@FancyGem: ah okay. I liked the blog post about adding the stuffing to regular underwear. Then the size doesn't matter. Usually schools are a lot more accommodating to potty training. So if you have lots of changes of clothes on those days I would go with the excuse of he's potty training. Then they treat it just like cloth diapers by sending bit home to you.
Which is why I can't believe so many places don't do cloth diapers lol.

Oh and I though about getting the grovia disposable inserts and using the sticky to stick it to his pants outside of the underwear. That may reduce some of the reaction issues and the mess if he has an accident. We didn't do this but I thought about it.

Do you know what he is allergic to? It might help you find alternatives.
Honestly, though, if it were my son, and he was truly allergic, I would speak to the director and explain we don't have disposables as an option.

@looch: thanks. I'm not exactly sure, but I've used 3 different brands.
We will talk to a new place in a few weeks. Hopefully, they will be understanding. Some places don't seem open to it.
