I'm really curious about this because I work with all men. The longest anyone has ever been gone is a week and a half. One guy was even back two days after his son was born.

My job is project based, so hopefully when maternity leave comes for me I'll be able to wrap things up, but I'm nervous that it will be hard to get back into it after being gone for a while. I'll be completely out of the loop.

Yes and no. My immediate supervisor took on new responsibilities that shifted half of her time away from the accounts I work on under her. And she made the decision to move out of state and start working remotely, but she didn't move until I came back to work. Other than that, its like I never was on leave, which I'm grateful for. I was nervous about losing my foothold on my accounts.

Yes! One person got fired, one assistant left, and worst of all, they changed the hours from 9-5 to 9-6. And I was told everything has gotten more corporate.

I got a promotion while on leave and was co-heading a new dept, but then I quit two months in to be a SAHM.

Not really. Occasionally someone will talk about a patient that I don't remember and I'll realize it must have been while I was out. It really felt like I had never left.

There was an announcement before I left of changes that would be happening. Should be interesting when I go back next spring.
