Fortunately, our LO has not yet figured out how to open the bin, although she is obsessed with the rubbish bin and is always making her way over there! I'm now dreading the point when she learns to open it....hopefully not for a very long time to come!

ETA: oops, somehow deleted the first part of my post where I said 'oh no!!! Digging through trash is never fun, poor thing! Hopefully it's a short lived phase.' Right, not sure how that got deleted in the original post!

Lol, she loves to throw things away but so far it's only been trash. Our trash can is in a cabinet so we can hear her slam the door if she goes in it. But usually I see her pick something up, like a leaf that is on the ground, and go throw it out. She keeps our house clean

My son did. I found some important papers in the trash, which was no fun. I told him to ask me first before throwing things away and he would come ask. He would come running with a ridiculously small speck of dirt and ask to throw it away. He's mostly over the phase now though. Sometimes I give him things to throw away, which he is generally happy to do.

Haha... LO hasn't hit this phase yet, but our trash can is in a drawer that she's not tall enough for. I'm sure the day will come, though.
