I am 13 weeks pp and have 16 lbs 'til prepreg weight, 24 'til prettc weight, and just fit into my prepreg jeans last wknd.

I didn't workout regularly during pregnancy and gained 38 lbs. I weighed more leaving the hospital than I did going in. I was 8 lbs. heavier than normal when I got pregnant also.

I totally agree with PPs that while some body parts may change due to pregnancy, overall - you can totally get back to your prepreg body, but it may take a lot more effort than before baby.

Paleo and watching my diet has been my #1 aid, I still haven't made exercise as regular in my schedule as I'd like, but I'm determined to get my body back and I WILL! Good luck to you in the rest of your pregnancy and postpartum!

@JoJoGirl: After pre-term labot at 22 weeks, I stopped working out . . . there were additional complications (swelling and bp) that prevented me from doing much more than going to work every day. I will say that while I have a ways to go with the weight (I gained almost 60 pounds on my 5'7" pp 130lb frame, and have 25 to go *sigh*), but my belly is bouncing back nicely (LO is almost 6 months) . . . I am even starting to get my definition back (I didn't pop until my third tri either . . . OB said it was because I had great core strentgth/muscle tone, and I am no spring chicken!).

    So yeah, there's a lot of hope . . .

I've kept on 10lbs and while I'm not exactly happy about it, I'm okay with it for now.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say I will have it back. Things are looking quite promising 16 days PP. I've got 8 lbs to pre-preg and 13 to my happy weight. Once I'm cleared for exercise I think I'll be back. I'll have to wait and see what happens to the poor boobs after I'm done breastfeeding!

@PrincessBaby: I totally agree with you!

@.twist.: My arms are the exact same as they were pre preg. They never got bigger or flabby! The only areas that "changed" during pregnancy were my belly obviously (lol), thighs, hips and butt. My hips are just a little bigger than pre preg and my butt is fuller (I like it!) and my thighs are back to normal. My clothes fit pretty much the same as they did before pregnancy except I fill out my pants a little better

I'm pretty close to my pre-baby body with clothes on! I could wear all of my pre-pg clothes at around 6 weeks and I was actually way skinnier at 2-3 months pp. I have not been diligent about maintaining a clean diet and working out regularly so I'm now a skinny fat (blah!).

As you know, I'm a crossfitter so I have a different perspective of my ideal body. I want my muscles back!!! I just haven't found the time or energy to work out more than 1-2 times a week.

I'm pretty much back:) It feels good.
I lost the weight naturally and quickly...but I had to tone up in order to fit my clothing.
I am happy with things but not ecstatic. Mainly because, I wasn't ecstatic with my body PreP anyways. So, I am working on "perfecting" right now (I'm not working nearly as hard as I could because i'm "comfortable" with things which lessens my incentive).
I agree with PP; it takes work and dedication. It's worth it and it is not impossible.

@PrincessBaby: amen, sister!!! You took the words right out of my mouth.
I've been down to my pre-pregnancy weight since about 12 weeks pp. My body has not changed- my hips are still the same, my butt is the same, the only thing that's changed are my ever growing and shrinking boobs (thanks, breast feeding!)
I too, worked out my whole pregnancy, and ate really healthy (no "carbs are the only thing that I can eat, wahhhh!" here! I forced myself to eat chicken/fish/veggies/fruit even when I didn't want to.
My weight didn't magically fall off, either. I started back at the gym about 3 weeks pp (just easy cardio) and then at about 10 weeks pp with a stubborn 7 lbs left to lose, I joined Weight Watchers and the weight just fell off.
Lets face it- the older we get, the harder it is for our bodies to bounce back. It takes work, and it takes commitment to ourselves, and it takes backing away from the ice cream, but in the end it feels really good to have a healthy body that I feel good about.
I honestly think no one on here is helpless or incapable. But it's a big job to get back in shape once you have a baby. I don't like 5 am workouts, but I like how they make my butt look :). It's all about how bad you want it.

You can get it pretty close. I was so depressed over losing my body while preg and posts like this always depressed me, but i worked diligently to lose the weight and worked out 3x/week average and I'm actually about 6 lb lighter than I was before I got pregnant at 6 mo PP. I still want to tone a bit but I think it will come. It took me a bit to get rid of the weight too (not one of these "I was at pre-preg at 6weeks" girls). If you are used to exercising, I think you'll be able to do it

I did great after my first baby and lost all 60lbs within 6months.. Not great after my second baby and lost 27 of the 29lbs at birth but then gained a good 45lbs after delivery and never really got it off.
Now, only weeks from delivering my third and final baby, I have managed to gain only 7lbs (so far and we are just shy of 31weeks)and will likely deliver between 37 and 38weeks due to my high risk status. So, this time around, I made it my mission to not let myself really go and to not set myself up for failure when I am no longer pregnant.
I'm not small. I'm normally a size 18. That's not what the 'norm' is on this sight and that's ok. I just want ppl to know that even if you were 'bigger' when you started your pregnancy you still have hope to regain yourself after the fact. Don't feel discouraged.

Yes and no. I'm back to my normal weight, I have a flat stomach again, and my shape is the same as it always was. That being said though, I have lost a lot of muscle tone and endurance. I just came home from the gym and am feeling very blah about my fitness level but I can't complain about my shape....as I'm sitting here drinking a cappuccino and eating a profiterole, lol!

Like @2peasinapod: I haven't really worked hard to get my body back. I'm naturally thin and I think my body's default setting is to stay on the skinny side, regardless of how much I eat/workout. But as I don't have a super toned body at the moment, that's making me feel as though I don't quite have MY body back yet.

I got back into my pre pregnancy clothes, but they fit differently. My butt got super flat.

I'm down to pre-preg weight at 6 weeks pp. Things are flabbier than I remember, but I got cleared for physical activity today.
I'm actually looking forward to hitting the gym again - surprising because I used to hate it.

@Pink Champagne: I ate carbs because I threw up protein. For a lot of people just being able to swallow something is an accomplishment in the beginning.

I was back to prepregnancy weight by about 5 weeks pp. Then lost more. Then gained some back. Hoping to lose it again. Aside from that, a little more skin in the belly but otherwise the same...

I should add that I'm not on a strict diet/exercise routine, and I ate half a large pizza tonight. I don't really expect for my body to be back quite yet.

I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight, and I can fit into most of my old clothes (although still not all of my pants). However, I still feel extra giggly around the belly area. I'd like to get my abs back in shape, but that takes time for exercising, which I just don't have right now.

My body isnt what it used to be, but I am still happy with myself. I was in ridiculously good shape before having a baby and I just don't have the time to invest what I used to into my fitness. The weight is gone and my stomach is flat and I am happy enough with that. I will work on getting rock hard again when I am done having kids.
