Quick background -
My Grandma passed away about 17 years ago, my Grandpa remarried about 6 years later (he married the woman he had an affair with 40 years prior, despite our clear warnings GOLD DIGGER.) He has lost everything he worked for, he had acreage in one of the fastest growing cities in the metro area (Beaverton/Aloha for those familiar with Oregon). He could've subdivided and made millions. Instead she made him sell it for $150,000 on contract, which they quit making payments to him. She took it and spent on her home... ANYWAYS, we don't claim her as family she's NUTSO! Now his health is really failing him, he's been in the hospital numerous times this year. He doesn't remember that he's married to her.
My Mom and I took him out for Father's Day breakfast and his wife tagged along. In typical fashion they were an hour and a half late and both arguing, it was real pleasant. I got up to use the restroom and she grabbed my arm and said
"Well I'll be, it looks like you decided to finally gain some weight, when are you going to lose it?"
I said "I didn't decide to gain it, I just haven't lost all my baby weight yet, thanks for pointing that out."
She ask what I've been doing to lose it and I told her between sleepless nights I was trying to do the 30 day shred.
She told me that it obviously wasn't working. When I came back she said,
"Well I always thought you were too skinny, you look great" Really woman? You just called me fat in front of my kids and a room full of strangers, now you say I look better!!!
At my baby shower at 7 months pregnant, she told me she couldn't wait to see me skinny again. Not I can't wait to see the baby, just I can't wait to see you skinny again.
I was in shock. My Mom and my son told her that I'm super self-conscience these days and to keep in mind that I have a baby. It was all I could do to keep myself from punching her in the nose! Seriously I have 2" extra on my waist and I'm 7lbs above my pre-pregnancy weight.
