What's up, sleep hell? We're back!
Teeth. I hate them. Did teething start you back at square one, or am I just exceptionally lucky? One broke the gumline, but the other is still hanging out.

@grizz: It's tough!! Does your LO respond at all to teething tablets or other teething remedies?

The 1st two teeth did. Then we did CIO again and been fine since then. She will cry out in her sleep but since 6 months, we have only had to go and get her once.

Teething has caused some awful nights but his sleep goes back to normal after the tooth breaks through. B usually STTN or has one wakeup. Last night, he was up 4 times because of a tooth. His top teeth really bothered him and we had nights with 6+ wakeups. Luckily, once the pain is over all returns to normal
I'm sorry C is hurting!

@Smurfette: do you wait a few minutes to see if she stops crying? I'm worried if L does this he will wake up and not go back to sleep. Haha obviously foreseeing the worst outcome.
@grizz: not there yet but I hope this is short lived for you!

@.twist.: She pretty much cries out once, maybe twice and then nothing. She might move around in the crib, like she is trying to get comfy but that is it. I would give her 5 mins before I go in if I needed to.

@mrbee: He usually seems to, but last night he didn't. We used ibuprofen and Hylands tablets. Any other ideas?
@Smurfette: That makes me feel better, because its his front two teeth. If he could just cut this other one, I think he'd feel so much better!

@grizz: I don't sleep train but yikes! LO is getting her first teeth right now too and I didn't know her sleep would get worse. She sleeps at 10 pm to 7am with 3 wakes up with these teeth. I am really tired! Plus she bites me

Not start all over, no. It does screw things up though. Its disturbed sleep for us every time. It usually only lasts a few days to a week for us though, and then she goes back to sleeping alright.

@Greentea: We were back to our old up every 45-50 minutes routine. I am dead today!

@grizz: The first two teeth have caused R the most pain. I think now she kind of knows what to expect. She wasn't bothered that much by the top 4, but now she is working on 2 more on the bottom. Sunday night she must have cried out about 10 times. Poor thing. I looked at her gums Monday and they are just white and you can see the damn 2 teeth, but they haven't poked through yet. Advil seems to help.

@grizz: Oh man, he must be in pain if he didn't respond to those!
I like the ideas to try Advil and to wait a few minutes before going in to pick up your LO. But if he's really in pain, I have to admit that I probably wouldn't wait too long before going in there!

@mrbee: Last night his cry/scream was so sad I just held him every time he woke up. I tried to pat him til he was drowsy enough to fall asleep since that has worked 95% of the time lately, but he was too upset.
He has still been napping like a champ though! I'm confused why they bother him more at night.

@grizz: well, M didn't start sttn until much later but we didn't have to do any new sleep training. once she got better (the teeth busted through and/or she got better from her cold) she went back to sleeping like she had before!
I was surprised, too. She was REALLY needy and pushy when she was sick and was up for 3-4 hours a night, also wouldn't let us lay her down w/o rocking to sleep. Now she's back to normal with health and sleep. PHEW.
