LO1 will remain in her room even though it's the smaller room. When LO2 is big enough, he/she will get the big bedroom. This is only because LO1 is a slave to routine and I don't want to mess that up for her.

When we had our second, we were living in a house that had the nursery connected to the master. So DD moved to a big girl room with big girl furniture about 3 months before #2 was born, and he moved into the nursery.

We're planning to leave #1 in his current bedroom even though its closest to our room. All 4 bedrooms are on the same floor and the 3 are very similar in size. #2 will probably co-sleep with us for the first 6 months at least anyways. I will use the furniture though - #1 will get new stuff and the nursery set will move into the new baby's room.

I was so worried that LO#1 would be so upset by all the other changes that I didn't want to change anything else when LO#2 showed up. We didn't buy a new crib either, so when she was ready for a big girl bed, we just put the crib in his room and never looked back. Now that we are expecting LO#3, we will do the same thing. They all have their own rooms, and we won't be switching them around (unless LO#3 is a boy, in which case rooms will be moved eventually but not right away because LO#1 and the room for LO#3 share a jackn'jill bathroom and I want the same gender sharing that bathroom)

We'll move LO1 into another bigger bedroom and put LO2 in the current nursery.
