We are packing today with the assistance of hired packers from the moving company, and moving tomorrow. How much do I need to tip them?

We didn't tip but provided snack, drinks, and lunch for them (they were there all day!)

When we moved we hired a company and there were 3 guys. We tipped them each $50 (they didn't pack for us, though).

@Mamaof2: I probably should have done that, but they already ran to Taco Bell for lunch -
@LAZB: The house we moved into was 2 stories so they had to move a ton of stuff upstairs (including a really heavy desk) and we also have a piano so I felt bad for them!

We tip about 50 per person.

We had 3 guys move us recently. We tipped them each $25 and bought them lunch.

I just talked to a guy at the office of the movie company, and he said typical is $20-25. Looks like you girls are all pretty generous!

i think $50 each (just movers, we packed ourselves), but i'm not sure. it was more than we'd planned, but the previous tenet was still in the apt when we arrived and refused to leave, then it was dark and we were moving into a top floor apt and they shut the power down for the whole street so they had to do half the move in the dark. it was a terrible night & they earned every penny!

I think we tipped our movers around $20ish each. We hadn't thought about this until the winding down part of the move and were trying to slyly google it to figure out a good amount. The were on time, polite, and fast, so we were happy to send a little extra something their way. I doubt they would have taken us up on food--it was summer and hot and they were all business.

We've always given $20 each, and provided food and drinks, including lots of bottled water, throughout the day.
