I live in New England and would LOVE Baby Uggs, but we're on a super strict budget so I won't be really splurging on anything unfortunately. =( Our "splurges" went on the registry (City Mini stroller, video monitor, etc).

I didn't - I left that to grandma! She bought him a pair of sperry topsiders recently that match mine : )

We received boy uggs as a gift and we love them, but I left the ridiculous items to other people who LOVE to buy those types of gifts!

We'll splurge on gear that will be used for a long time (through at least two kids). But not on higher end clothes. I just don't think it's worth the money.

I splurge on things that we need but when it comes to extra things, then I try to be more frugal. I just let other people spoil LO with the more extravagant things.

We were gifted those pink baby uggs for DD #1... and after she was born, I went out and got the brown ones too :). I didn't find it too ridiculous because we used them a lot living in NYC when she was out and about in the Ergo. It was perfect for fall and winter!

I also ended up using both pairs on DD #2 as well, so I really made good use of them. They are so snug, super warm and don't fall off all the time like baby socks.

We were gifted a Juicy outfit too... I'm not really into that brand, but DDs wore it a few times before they outgrew it (which was quick because it was in a tiny size... 3 months).

Definitely buy all the lux items you want. Even if they outgrow it quick, i save a few pieces like these as mementos. After they are all grown up, it's nice to look back and see how tiny they once were!

I haven't bought anything yet, but have a feeling once we know gender I'll be all over it... which I need to be conscious of not to go overboard.

Nothing yet, but I'm waiting for the perfect indulgent item to cross my line of vision....

that stuff is so cute! I love the maryjane socks. i guess its less of a splurge because i got both of these items on consignment but baby has baby adidas and baby chuck taylors. he will only be able to wear them for like a day and a half but they were so cute i gave in. i also love little concert tees and such.

I didn't have to buy my lo anything, she got so many gifts. People got her cute little fancy shoes, robes, etc. Lots of things she never wore.

I bought little pink Converse chucks to match her Daddy, it inspired this topic http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/is-there-a-secret-to-putting-on-baby-shoes because I can't get her feet in them!!!

I'm guilty of spending more on clothes too, I love brands like Janie and Jack, Oilily, Tea Collection and the like.

OMG I will be that person to over spend and buy MEGA ridiculous baby items! DH and I really really hope we are having a girl... but for our bank account it'll be better to have a boy... I can't wait to start gender shopping!

I'm cheap and know we'll be gifted a lot of clothes so a splurge in my book is anything not on clearance. My thoughts are that I'm not spending a fortune on clothing for someone who poops their pants.

That being said..I definitely like to buy quality items when it comes to things like strollers, car seats, etc. so those would be splurges in my book.

@heartsnsunshine: Haha! That black tutu is the first one I've made but it was SO EASY. It actually has a hot pink ribbon waistband and a huge bow in the back too. LO pretty much wears a headband and flower/bow every single time we leave the house.

@jholler25: Thank you! I think she's pretty adorable. I'm probably biased though. Little girls are so. much. fun. Im super girly, so I dress her in all manner of ridiculous clothing.

@jholler25: Yeah i'm going to get an early scan. My anatomy is scheduled Aug 2nd, but mom will be visiting July 11th and wants to see the baby.
Then it's big spending time $$$$!
