Did you buy mega ridiculous stuff for baby as a FTM?

The only thing we plan on spending a good amount of money on are things that we can use for an extended period of time. Babies grow way too fast and we'd rather have a bunch of cute stuff than only a few high priced cute things. Babies don't care about brands anyway.

@jholler25: haha you are too funny!
Totally stalk sample sale websites - gilt, totsy, zulily, beyond the rack and ideeli - I have seen baby uggs on sample sale!

I have a boy so I'm not too bad but I totally plan to buy him, DH and me matching TOMS what he starts walking hehe!!

I bought a pair of Toms in just about every size, but that's about it. It would have been much worse had he been a girl.

@bree72: My coworker said that Toms are the best for not falling off...Her daughters have them in silver and pink glitter and they are so freakin' cute! But apparently also functional!!!

@Coco Bee: I signed up for all those sites this morning! Thank you!!!

I would say my biggest splurge has been definitely been all the Pottery Barn Kids stuff we've bought - bedding, sheets, towels, blankets, changing cover pads, curtains, etc. I think I spent $1,000 at PBK the night after our shower to order all the stuff I really wanted but didn't get (no one bought anything off PBK registry). Total CRAZY PANTS!! lol. That being said, we love everything we ordered and don't regret it at all.

Regarding clothes, I am really really really trying to control myself. I know she's going to be a walking billboard for Gymboree. My DH has no idea what he is in for.

I plan on buying baby EVERY.LITTLE.THING. Its insane....I figure: you only have a newborn once? Then, they grow up and want to pick out their own clothes.
    I want Ed Hardy onesies.....
    a Northface bunting
These aren't pricey but they will not last long with his growing feet: I already got him crocs & now I want RL sheep loafers:

@jholler25: both DDs were wearing size small baby Uggs at around 6-9 months... hope this helps! definitely keep your receipts though in case it doesn't work out. I also usually buy these sorts of season-specific things closer to the time when they'll be wearing them, but I know you're probably excited to do a bunch of shopping now

I have tried to keep my crazy purchases to a minimum since we are really trying to budget right now due to some very large unexpected expenses lately. But I love baby girl clothes, so I know I will probably splurge, like the Baby Uggs...so cute.

@NYCaliMama: thank you! I looked at them in person at Nordstrom (DH threw me some MAJOR side-eye but whatevs) and the small looked big! We live in south FL so it's only cold for a few weeks in Dec/Jan and she's due Dec 7. By Feb/Mar it's back to 80 everyday...Do you think I can make them work on a 1 mos/2mos old? I just dont know how little/big baby feet are. And I really want them for baby pics bc I think it's just too hilariously cute:)

@jholler25: yes the size small is big!! honestly, my girls have long feet for babies and they were 6-9 months at the start of wearing them. My almost 1 year old can still wear them if I really try! too bad they don't make them smaller for newborns... I'm sure your 1-2 month old will fit in them, they just might look huge but if it's just for pics, it might be okay esp close to around 3 months? Either that, or she can wear them for a one-year old photo shoot around Dec next year?

@PrincessBaby: I found this old thread when I searched Juicy Couture! I find myself "splurging" the most on JC items - they're just such girly overload of cuteness I can't resist! Oh, and I have told DH about the baby Uggs. So freakin cute! I'm going to wait for baby's first winter and she will get some! I already bought her a pair of black Bearpaws (lookalike uggs). And I found some baby Joe's jeggings (like mom's) at Nordstroms Rack too! But seriously, all the JC stuff is killing me! I will easily spend 4-5xs more on that than anything else.
Can't wait to see Harper and Kaitlyn in all their outfits!

I remember thinking how I had to have those cute baby Uggs for our super cooold winters. Now 5 months later, I am so happy I didn't buy them!! DD kinda has big feet and would have never fit them. And even if they did fit, whenever we're out she's in her bundler and it's already toasty - her feet would be sweating with multiple layers of sheepskin!

But somethings are so cute, it's worth wearing once (just be sure to take a picture)! Haha!

A friend got me fake baby uggs at Target. Super cute, and no guilt about spending the $$$$
