yeah, DH picked LOs name, I basically lost the energy to argue at the end of the third trimester and he genuinely thought I changed my mind! I like it now, but I more like the nickname I gave him. My big worry, which was not unfounded, was my family would use it as a two-name name and call him by both his first and middle names. We're working on that still...

DH and I did not really agree on names. DD came almost 4 weeks early and we were fighting in the hospital about what to name her. After two days I caved. I liked his pick enough to just let it go. He was never going to give in to my top name and the other names on my personal list were only slightly higher in my mind than his top choice.

I will say for the first month of her life I only called her baby girl - I couldn't bring myself to say her name. Once I got over that it got better. It's still not a name I love, and I would never have picked it if not for DH. BUT it's her name and most days I think it fits her.

Yes I dont love my second daughters name as much as my first daughter which makes sense since I have loved my first daughters name for years before she was born but I had a second place name I liked more than the one we used for my second daughter too. I was all set on using it if we had another girl and thought DH was on board but then as the pregnancy progressed he suddenly out of no where said no way. We went on discussing other names and came up with 2 alternatives, one I liked more and one my DH liked more and we ended up with my DH's choice since I had gotten my 1st choice with my first daughter when my DH wasnt totally in love with the name. I do kinda regret it now and told DH if we have another girl we are using my other name as Im so sad that I never got to use it in some way. I like my baby's name I just somehow dont love it in the same way as I do my other choice still.

We chose honor names more than names we were in love with. I really love LO2's middle name - it is a variation of DH's name so we didn't use it as a first name. I also really loved LO1's first name but had a bad association because of a coworker I disliked while pregnant with him which made the name less appealing. So out of the 4 names we chose I was only 100% in love with one if them but I would never think of changing them!

Yes. We chose DS's first name because it was a family name...it's DH's middle name, FIL's middle name, and was his mother's maiden name (all with an S on the end). It was either going to be his first or his middle name. I don't really care for his middle name much at all, but it's MIL's maiden name, and it meant a lot to the family.

I didn't have a choice in DD's first name pretty much at all. If I REALLY hated it I think D would have been okay with letting it be her middle name, but it was his beloved Grandmother's name, and DD is the first girl McK in 78 years, and it was massively important to D that it be her first name. I chose her middle name.

That said, I liked both names a lot, they just wouldn't have been my first choices if it was only up to me. But I LOVE them now (except for DS's middle name, but I just sort of shrug about it?). Their names definitely suit them, and I think they sound great together, too!

For my daughter, my husband picked her first and middle, but I picked our son's first and middle. I like her name a lot, but I don't love love it. She could have easily had a different name.

I didn't love her name at first, but it was really important to T and now I can't imagine her as anything else (I was pushing for Katelyn).

We both LOVED our girl name option (Carolina Isabel; It's the names of our hometowns in Puerto Rico) but of course our little one ended up being a boy!

By the time we found out the sex, we had narrowed it down to about 10 names but as soon as we found out it was a boy, Lorenzo (nn Enzo) immediately stood out from the list as HIS name. So I love it andI love it for him but I LOVE our girl name for it's connection to us (rather than Lorenzo which is just a name we liked). We are using my dad and granddad's MN as his MN so that makes it a bit more meaningful.

With Logan, we never found a name that we both LOVED. We just had a name we both agreed on and we liked it the best of all the other names we thought of. But we didn't feel the same way about it that we felt about Xander's name before he was born.

Now that Logan is here and has his name, I can't imagine it being anything else! It'll definitely grow on you, I promise!

Yes. My husband has a 10 year old, and my husband has never been a huge fan of his name. So I knew going into naming our kids, that I wanted him to have more of a role in naming. I showed him my long list of girl names, more than 50 names. He liked two of them. He decided that we'd found THE girl name within minutes. I liked the name, eventually agreed to use it, and loved it by the time she was born.
