We did a trial week before I went back to work and I cried the first 2 days!

I did. LO did not. I still get teary eyed leaving him, he just looks at me waves a toy and goes back to playing. I wish I was that cool about it.

I did with my second.
I also cry every first day of school for my oldest. I drop her off and get into the car and just sob, knowing that I will only have so few first days left to drop her off. She is in 5th grade, so I will get to 7 more first days of school left with her. Next year my middle DD starts kindergarten...I am sure it is going to be even worse dropping 2 off:)

I sobbed into my husband's shoulder as soon as we left the building so, that would be a yes. It got better after a week...

Our baby-sitter will be watching LO at our house on Monday and I know it'll be so hard to leave her! I will probably cry.

I probably will. My time with him before I go back to work is so short!! Darn 12 week maternity leaves!

Haha, I totally did not. Is that terrible? I was so ready to go back to work!

No. I felt kinda relieved, to be honest. Everyone kept asking me if I was sad and I felt like the worst mom for saying no but I was happy to get back to work and adult interaction. I get sad now if she starts crying when I drop her off but overall I'm totally ok with it.

@BeachMama: I'm really looking forward to going back to work, no guilt over that. I'm just going to be sad leaving her on the first day.

I had a half-day long mild breakdown! Cried on and off, but mostly just tense. I drove by and hid and watched him play outside. The daycare director saw me and came by and told me all about how he was doing (he was doing great, of course!). But honestly it was not bad at all especially because I was able to get emails and texts from the director about how he was doing... if he cried, if he napped, etc.

Yes, cried on the first day of daycare! And probably every day the first week. But it got better after about a week.

We have a nanny, but on my first day of work, as I was driving away, I just sobbed.

Yes - I was a sobbing mess when I left LO at daycare for the first time. She cried too. I picked her up that afternoon and cried again (she was fine, I was a mess). I cried again on day 2. I'm sure the teachers thought I was nuts.

Yup. Didn't think I would since I was looking forward to going back to work. I cried the entire way to work, which is a 45 minute commute! I left early the first few days back so that helped.

@T-Mom: not terrible! I didn't cry either... Was so ready to go to work too!!!
I might cry with my second though since she's my last baby! We don't think she'll go to preschool til around 3 yo though maybe.
@mrsmenow: I have been crying as we tour schools that my eldest is applying to for kindergarten. I think it just gets worse as they get older

@SAHM0811: I think I will definitely cry when I send DD to kinder. You are right, it actually gets worse!

DH is a WAHD and I still cried! To be honest, sometimes I get said now (he's 13 months) because I just want more time with him. I miss him sooo much while I'm at work.
