My mom wants to give DD a "big" gift for her 1st bday, probably a PB anywhere chair. But, DS already has one, she loves it and it takes up so much room so I'm thinking maybe no big gift this time.

DD 1's "big" gift from us was a water table I got off nbd and a personalized name stool. DD 2 will be getting the same stool for sure. Not sure what else.

We only have one lo so far so it might change but our plan is to do one big gift at each birthday. I think we will do a kitchen either at her 1st birthday or next Christmas. A kid sized table and chairs set might be a good compromise if you don't have one.

Dd1 got two gifts for her first birthday - a convertible carseat and a kitchen.

@matador84: I didn't personalize E's chair on purpose so they could share it!
Good question, though. Now I wonder what H will get, because we sure as heck don't need any more toys!
(I did musical instruments for E's first birthday. Not big, but fun. And no batteries! He got maracas, a xylophone, a drum, and a tambourine.)

We did the PBK chair for DD1 and we'll probably do another one for DD2 because we couldn't think of anything else to get her.

@rattles: ha! We really need to get dd in a convertible, that's what I should ask for...heeheehee.

@Espion: ugh! I wish I had done that. They love to sit in the chair together.

DS1 got a play kitchen for his 1st birthday, and DS2 got a bunch of small items (books, tunnel, duplo, water bottle, etc).

DD1 got a zany zoo and a tricycle. DD2 will probably get either a swing set/slide for the yard or a kitchen (DD1 will get the other one for her birthday 2 months later).

Nope, I actually didn't get her anything for 1st birthday besides a birthday book, but she got plenty of gifts from other people at her party.

nope didn't give either kid a gift! charlie had a bday party though so he did get bday gifts. poor olive got the second child shaft.

We got her a wooden walker toy that I got used through a local mom's group. She had a party and got plenty of toys, so we didn't really feel like we needed to get much more.

No, we got her a pretty moderately priced gift. I went all out at Christmas.

@matador84: and the giant box it comes in will be her favorite gift anyway

Nothing too spectacular, a few cheap push toys, seemed like an afterthought after planning the party, bought her a PBK anywhere chair for her first Christmas and she is just starting to love it! We only have one so I can't talk about sharing!

Yes, the first was the Fisher Price Zoo for C. As the second, E gets the play kitchen!
We've been holding out on that due to space, but I came up with a plan to rearrange and we decided to get something they both would use and play food is the big hit with both of them. Second child WIN!

We gave her a board book. We didn't see any reason to be spendy, as she thought the wrapping paper and box were the best part of her gifts.

I bought her a grown up gift - an enamel jewellery box for her to have when she's an adult. Her 1st birthday was a few months after her baptism, and my brother bought her a tiffany diamond bracelet so I wanted to put it somewhere.

No. LO1 got a pull toy and LO2 got a (very cheap) doll stroller.

I wasn't a gift from us but I loved it:
My mom got LO1 personalized table wear. So he got a plate, a bowl and a cup with his name on them. They were wrapped in one of these little paper suitcases that he still plays with a lot nearly a year later and he uses his plates everyday.

No - we didn't get her a gift other than the party.
For her second I think we will get her a play kitchen though.
