Tomorrow is my birthday and we don't have anything exciting planned. I'm pregnant, so the things I wanted to do are out. We are going to dinner Saturday night.
My husband was being all buh-humbug about his 30th, so we didn't do anything special for his either. He wouldn't even let me take him to dinner!
We declared re-dos for 31 & 32 since we didnt really celebrate for our 30ths.
What did you do?

I went to Las Vegas with my sister, aunt, cousin, and closest friends. That was before husband and kids!

I ran a half marathon in the pouring rain and wished I was just at home celebrating with my friends instead of 700 miles away. It pretty much sucked. so... I got a re-do this year on 31 and had a lovely day!

When DH turned 30 I planned a weekend getaway. Then I threw a surprise party a week later.

We pooled the money we would have spent on gifts for each other and dinners out and took our 4 closest friends (2 couples) out to dinner! It was amazing because we told them how much we had to spend and they should order whatever they wanted. Since most of us weren't or couldn't drink, we ordered so much and it was awesome!!!!! I'd do it again in a heartbeat!!

DH took me to dinner. Then he has organized a surprise bowling party with friends. It was one of those really nice places with waitresses and I got mad cause I only got one drink and never saw the lady again. But it was fun!

We did a wknd full of activities A day out at the art festival, lunch etc with my boys, dinner/gno with my bests, a family bbQ on my actual bday and then the day after we went on our first (flight) family beach vaca for a week

We didn't do anything. Boo. I really wanted to plan a trip with friends to Savannah, but everyone was pregnant, or had just given birth, and pulling my husband away from hunting season is never easy. Maybe we'll plan something this year for our 31st birthdays as a re-do.

I took my husband on a surprise weekend trip to Chicago. Not sure what I want to do, I have about 14 months to decide. I am writing a 30 before 30 list now. Maybe I'll be finishing something on there!

I was 3 weeks pp with our daughter, so not much. I joke that I stayed up all night on my 20th birthday, so it was only fitting to do the same on my 30th!
We're also doing a 30 v2.0 for my 31st. Vegas I think!

Mine is in 2 weeks, so we'll see! We are in the middle of moving though so I imagine we won't be doing much. Certainly not a surprise weekend getaway like I'm secretly hoping for, lol.

Happy almost birthday! My husband always plans a special dinner or something for my birthday, but for my 30th we also had lunch with a group of friends. Afterwards, we went to our house to eat my favorite cake.
On a lame note, one couple asked if we could instead bring the cake to the restaurant so they could get home for naptime. Uhm, no. My birthday, my plans

Went to my SIL's high school graduation . . . which made me feel like I was 100 instead of 30. We've declared 35 to be the year we'll celebrate instead!

DH's 30th was pretty epic if I do say so myself!
We threw him a surprise party but it was a decoy for the real surprise. Which was a helicopter ride over Niagara Falls.
I was 1 week postpartum for my 30th. DH had planned on surprising me with a Vegas trip. But I got knocked up. He did the best he could since I was under house arrest and my mom even gave me a free food pass from "sit month". Woot woot!
He got me diamond studs as a combo 30th birthday /first mother's day gift.

The month after I turned 30, I finished my part time masters degree and went on a 2-week vacation to Japan with my best friend (who is half Japanese).
That was two years before I met my husband! Yesterday he forgot about my birthday, grrrr.

I was in Thailand on a tiny island eating freshly caught fish to candlelight in a raging tropical storm. It was so romantic at the time, but I subsequently broke up with the person I was with, so the memory seems like a very distant and exotic world that no longer exists. In fact, it seems like that "me" doesn't really exist any more.
This year I'll celebrate with my husband and two beautiful daughters at home... And that feels as real as it gets!

My DH took me to the Grand Del Mar hotel in San Diego. It has horses and golf, and our best friends came. It was like a dream.

I decided that I had to just embrace turning 30 so we threw a big backyard party at our house and had a taco truck come! Made lots of margaritas and I baked myself three birthday cakes. It was really memorable and fun.

Threw a big 20s themed party and did a burlesque fan dance for my friends & family. It was one of the best parties I've ever thrown.
My 34th birthday was sad because my birthday is 2 weeks after LO. She was 2 weeks old and I was hormonal and in pain.
Today (I'm 36!) we are just ordering my favorite brick oven pizza. We went out to see Wicked on Tuesday and I'm having a few people over on Saturday for birthday cake, drinks, and pizza.
