did you do birth announcements for your LO? I did with both my girls. I just finished writing out envelopes..my mom thought it was silly to send them out when everyone has facebook, but I felt like there was something traditional about them!

I am going to, and planning to include thank you notes in the same envelope to save on postage 
Sams club has them for like $17 for 25 for the fancy ones or $10 for 30 for the regular photo cards. Going to go one of those routes I think..the online stores seem so pricey in comparison!

Yes, I plan on doing them again, although probably to less people Last time I jus stuck them in with Christmas cards to save on stamps (I'm cheap and stamps are just as much as the cards these days) so this time it will be to close family and friends only. It's hard, DH has a HUGE family.

I did. I like them a lot. I love seeing which pictures people choose to reflect their LO and their new experience of parenthood.
My mom never forgave me for not sending out wedding announcements after I eloped and she made it clear that I must send out birth announcements. Lucky for me I was going to do them anyway.

Yep. And spent too much! I love getting mail and we have a lot of family that stays connected via mail. We also got newborn photos done and I wanted to show them off

We will after our newborn session next week. I pre addressed about 70 5x7 envelopes. I love getting paper mail.

Yes, we did. I like sending and receiving actual printed cards. I don't have a Facebook account, just too lazy to keep up with it. LOL.

No and we probably won't this time either. The money and getting it together just aren't in the cards for us but I take a lot of photos and send emails

Yes! We sent them out when she was 5 months old, so everyone knew she was here and had already seen pics on FB, but I'm a sucker for baby announcements so it was really important to me to send them out!

Yes. We had newborn photos done. Also I don't really post many pics of my LO on Facebook and didn't really mention my pregnancy on it, so we wanted to do something.

Yes, we did and I loved them with ds. But I'm finding that none of the companies make much of a selection for twins, which has me really annoyed! I'd really like to do it again but I'm going to have to settle for a design I don't really love. I don't get it - 150 options for girls, 150 options for boys, 10 for twins? I know that twins occur less frequently but still...

@marionberry: Not sure if you already have done this, but Etsy has some pretty nice designs I've seen designs for baby showers for twins. Maybe they have some for birth announcements as well.

Yes, but I didn't order many and I sent them only to the older family members that are big on that. Heck, I got too tired after addressing half of them (with both boys) and still have stacks of old announcements somewhere on my desk
