Ugh, I'm usually so on top of my taxes but not this year. Morning sickness is kicking my butt and the productivity around the house.
I'm feeling better today so maybe it will get done this weekend!

We took our stuff to the accountant, does that count? Haha. Just waiting to hear back how painful it's going to be this year...

We finished ours in January when we got l our forms we moved last year and I was afraid we'd owe so I wanted to get them done ASAP.

Just got our refund! I was so excited to do it b/c I really need to recover from not getting paid for 3 mos, hospital bills, etc! And having an LO def bumped up our refund this year!

Hell no... Don't want to give the government my money any sooner than I have to. Will possibly even file an extension.

Yep, as soon as we got all of our documents in the middle of February. We used to wait until early April, but it was so nice getting it out of the way!

Ugh, no, so behind! Going to make an appointment for next week. I'm expecting a good refund so I need to get it done!

Ugh. Trying to but a slow computer, two year old and newborn are making it a very slow process!

Definitely done. They were done a month ago. I like to get them out of the way ASAP. Although it still sucks writing that check... it is what it is.

I just need to sign and return to our accountant.

US taxes yes, Austrian taxes no...but you get a whole year to do them.

Yes, and it makes me want to vomit. Apparently I didn't select the right withholding form my paychecks last year. Whoops. We owe a lot.
nectarine / 2433 posts
No, I have all the forms and everything I just need to get it all organized and spend an hour doing them. Our LO is due April 14th so I want to get them done ASAP!

No, I have everything ready to go to Turbo Tax them. DH usually does them. This year, I want to do them to get it out of the way before April 15.

@mrscobee: FYI, even if you file an extension you still have to pay on time. The extension is just for filing.

Yep. My MIL is a CPA so she likes to get ours out of the way before the last minute rush of her other clients.

@ShootingStar: Yes, true, but just an estimate, right? So much easier than doing the whole thing right now We are really busy this time of year so helps to put it off.
pomegranate / 3244 posts
Yup. Already got my federal refund, and my state sent asked me to verify my identity last week so I should be getting that refund in the next week or so. It should be just enough to cover some immigration fees we need to pay for DH this year.
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
Yeah. DH did those back in January or early February - it's been awhile.

@mrscobee: I think they can ding you if you underpay though. But I'm not sure...
honeydew / 7622 posts
Yes. Just signed and scanned for e filing and sent back to our account last night. How long does it take to get state and federal refunds?
honeydew / 7622 posts
@SweetiePie: boo, I'm sorry. That happened to us almost 10 years ago. You can set up to pay in installments if needed

Done! We got a refund for state, owed for federal, for a net loss of about $200, so not too bad. Turbo tax lets you complete it but schedule the withdrawal on April 15th, which is nice!

@ShootingStar: Yeah, you are right. I wasn't even really thinking when I wrote my first post. My husband does all of it, and I don't really think about it. We basically just always owe, and are super lazy with stuff like this, so we'll file extension on the last day possible, try to come up with a good estimate, and pray we didn't underpay! Sums up our attitude about taxes LOL!

Yes! Filed them earlier in the month and got our refund pretty quickly.
