No...I didn't have a cake topper...I just baked a 13x9 inch cake in a pan and called it our wedding cake. There wasn't anything to save, and we didn't have any sort of traditional wedding. Cake was eaten within a week.

I voted "other". I cut it into 4 or 5 large chunks and individually froze them (many layers of saran wrap, foil and then freezer ziplock bag). Occasionally throughout the first year, I would defrost a chunk to eat just cuz I was in the mood. I did save the last piece for our 1 year anniversary... and it was still tasty!

@autumnlove: that's hysterical! when I called my mother crying about my cake she said that my great-grandmother, her MIL, ate theirs. She said it must be a family tradition that something happens to the cake before the first anniversary! haha
@anbanan15: if it was BM I would've FREAKED, the whole neighborhood would've heard me.

We never got a cake topper (which reminds me we were supposed to get a fresh anniversary cake, but never did! Oh well, 3 years too late now). I'm also super paranoid about eating "old" stuff, so I wouldn't have wanted a frozen one anyway

Nope. It got freezer-burnt and I wasn't fond of our cake to begin with. We just get a cake for our anniversary every year.

Nope- we ate it the morning after our wedding for a pre-brunch snack! It was delish!

No we didn't even keep it because we thought it would be gross, and really didn't have the room for it

We did, but not ON our anniversary, since we were traveling for family things. It wasn't quite as good as fresh, but still delicious!

@anbanan15: okay now I see how bad that sounds. They wrote hello all over it

Ours is this April, we still have it and plan to eat it.
I hope it is good because neither of us actually got to eat any on our wedding day!

We ate ours on our anniversary! We got married at the beach and my mom took it home in the car (to Alabama) and we later drove it home to where we live (9 hour drive). THEN we decided to spend our first anniversary at the beach where we got married so it made the 13 hour car ride BACK down to the beach (with an overnight hotel stay in a cooler). It was soooooo disgusting! We both spit it our immmediately in the sink!

We didn't have to save our wedding cake. Our bakery provides couples with a free cake for their first anniversary. It was fresh and delicious!

Our baker made us a separate cake to save for our first anniversary and I carried that thing on the plane from Wisconsin to Texas. It was a little worse for wear, but still tasted delicious on our anniversary.

I never intended to save it, but my mom insisted. We took slices off of it occasionally over our first year, and I think we did have one final piece for our anniversary.

We ate our cake leftovers on our honeymoon but I had the top tier remade for our first anniversary

My cats ate it while we were on our honeymoon... But luckily our baker has an option to order a new mini cake.

I didn't want year old cake and we cut into the top for pictures because the other tiers were cupcakes.

We saved a few pieces of our cake and ate it throughout the year. We ate the remainder of it on our 1st anniversary, when LO was 4 days old
